I've applied to nearly 50 entry level it jobs and SOC internships and have received nothing back. I'm a physics undergrad, have a sec+ ceryification, worked wjth my family building old ass microphones so I know about electronic assembly, soldering, using cnc machines, Im in a computer security club at my university and Im on the blue and red team for competitions, was president of the fucking chess club and treasurer of the astronomy club, play fucking poker tournaments and bought eth at 5 dollars, live in a midsized city in Florida

We’ve entered the age of Galt. A time where civilization doesn’t deserve the fruits of the productive. Chill, make bank with crypto and live in the woods.

get into construction. Hard work but pays well, better than any entry level job you do now. Just dont be lazy user. Do something like mason work. I have a degree in cs, ended up getting into trades (i know cs pays well but fuck looking at a computer all day). play with stocks and crypto in the evenings after work.

Id do that if I still had the crypto money. I had like 70k on bitmex by the beginning of 2018 and was all on shorts. Got fucking hacked and since I'm American I didn't pursue it. I've literally got like a grand to my name right now after some series of unfortunate events.

Where in FL OP?

its because theres thousands of other people like you all applying for the same position and the only people that stand out are the ones who did more than you did. this is why college degree jobs are complete memes and the only way to make real money nowadays is to learn a trade and become very good at it. the only way you can make it in the white collar world is to carry a 4.0 gpa and do shittons of volunteering, be a valedictorian of every single class youve been in and make shitloads of projects and theory papers basically have rich parents who will carry your entire schooling career financially

also entry level it jobs you didnt even mention if you have IT certs like A+, Security+, etc. theyre solid gold bars in the eyes of employers and HR people

I know nothing about the industry. I wouldnt mind doing something in the outdoors but would they take somebody that knows nothing? What would the pay be like? Rn I'm currently working with my dad making like 12 an hour doing this technical shit but I wanna get to a point asap where selling my time directly isn't my only source of income. Tampa, home of gallagher and hulk hogan. Bro I literally know enough to be a decent script kiddy criminal doing fucking cc fraud or something I thought people without degrees get into IT all the fucking time I have a security+ I mentioned that. And I'm on the computer security clubs competition teams

Most lower-level InfoSec positions are outsourced to Eastern Europe these days, so the competition for the few remaining ones in the US is fierce. Unless you are a 'top performer' as one user already mentioned you are not getting the job.
