>Manga creator Yūsuke Ōsawa revealed on Twitter on Tuesday that his Spider-Man: Fake Red (Spider-Man: Itsuwari no Aka) manga based on Marvel's Spider-Man character has been canceled. Ōsawa stated that although initial sales of the manga's first compiled book volume were fairly good, additional printings did not continue to sell as well. The digital version also did not sell well at all. Ōsawa added that there are no plans for an overseas release.
Does Japan not really like modern western capeshit or was this just not very good?
Chase Stewart
Nice.
Levi Flores
>Using Silk Good. He can go and hopefully read better comics now.
Kevin Anderson
>Does Japan not really like modern western capeshit more or less, they have their own superheroes like kamen rider
Nathan Gutierrez
People barely buy Marvel comics in the first place nowadays, so even though it's a manga this isn't surprising.
Thomas Murphy
They introduced a female love interest but revealed that she was a dyke. Other than that, I’m guessing the target audience couldn’t relate to the main character.
Jose Robinson
>Does Japan not really like modern western capeshit
Does anyone like it?
Nathan Wright
>there are no plans for an overseas release Don't they even try?
Gabriel Reyes

Wyatt Jenkins
Based. Anyone that associates with capshit in it's current iteration deserves to flop, job, seeth and have sex.
>I’m guessing the target audience couldn’t relate to the main character. Going by the name i guess it's another snotnosed tardchild in the suit and not Parker for the 500th time?
Carson Gomez
DC and Marvel comics dont really sell anyway anymore
Cooper Martinez
I suppose if male MC was crossdressing as Spiderwoman trap it would sell buckets.
Bentley Taylor
He wasn't near as interesting as their own interpretation
I never really found the appeal of the kwa comics where the original author died decades ago and the corporation keeps rehashing the characters by doing countless reboots with no continuity. Even though the japanese tend to be godawful at endings, at least things that aren't Conan or One Piece eventually end.
Josiah Morgan
But Stan Lee himself was directly involved with the japanese on creating Supaidaman back then.
>Burgers bastardize good-ish manga >Elevens bastardize shitty capeshit >Both are shit Why do they both insist on this despite always failing?
Mason Wood
Well, yeah. We call them normies. I mean, how else would Marvel survive in this day and age?
Jose Hernandez
If there was a manga that needed to be simulpublished in the US it was this, seems like a huge missed opportunity from Kodansha and Marvel
Wyatt White
Marvel is too busy hemorrhaging money by pandering to a fanbase that doesn't exist, and they have been for the last 5 or 6 years.
Benjamin Cruz
who's that pink girl in the background?
Ayden Roberts
Should have made a manga about Peni Parker. She’s cute cute CUTE
Alexander Reed
I buy western comics but the only thing I'm buying monthly is Thor. The rest is usually Image stuff because I like how the creators have complete control of their projects.
Robert Brooks
I should've mentioned only thing from Marvel I'm buying monthly is Thor. I'm more of a DC guy from the big two but I prefer Image
Ryan Anderson
Screwball.
Caleb Sanchez
From Dan Slotts's run? Surprised she wasn't more of a breakout character. Good idea just went nowhere.
Connor Barnes
The movies probably.
Christian Young
She's shown up in a few other things, like the PS4 game and the recent cartoon (although her true identity in that show was Liz Allan).
Justin Hill
I honestly thought it ended once Spiderman got his suit back from the kid, I didn't think it could go anywhere after that was satisfied with it being a little short what if.
Jacob Walker
Yep, this includes many of the earlier sentai installments, he envisioned sun Vulcan coming to the states
Angel Russell
Marvel is non-stop pushing their shit in Japan and all the publishers eat it up, frankly it's disgusting. The only positive I can say for Japan when it comes to DC/Marvel is they don't bring it in unless it can be a Japanese original story by Japanese creators which is how it should be.
Eli Harris
>modern It's not like they liked the classic stuff either, the 70's Hulk manga never even got reprinted or collected. The 70's Spider-Man manga has only been collected so many times because it was one of the first works of a very famous artist.
Austin Wood
it was good, but the story kinda had nowhere to go. It's a complete story.
