Chainlink let's you feed API data into smart contracts in a reliable manner. It uses something called an "Oracle" to do this. LINK is just the token it pays out for nodes to do this work

it's primary purpose is to make me rich as fuck

Poo poo pee pee

It solves the being poor problem

so why link, why not another token

Because if it was another token the founders of the project would have needed to buy a huge amount first. This way they create it from nothing and distribute it, hoping the market will give it value, which it has so far

Yes.

Honestly link is a pump and dump biz pulls on the newfags, with the sole purpose of making you lose money, think of it as an initiation

Yes.

If I want to generate a random number on the blockchain, I spend like 8 bucks to do it. This is the going rate for a LINK governed smart contract. It's a secure protocol for validating transactions between blockchain ledgers. There are other technologies that do the same thing, but for cheaper rates. However, LINK has first mover advantage, like BTC, and it has substantial backing.

It's shilled on this board because the linkmarine meme and others are high quality and resonate with the cyrpto market at this time. I haven't really seen any white paper-based justification, but then again I don't really live on this board I just hop on for a few months every year or so and check in on the trends so wtf do I know.

does first mover advantage even matter, I guess it just means link is more likely to have faster adoption but if theres widespread adoption then eventually the higher fees to use the network will just make link unusable at some point and people will just use the alternatives

Which alternatives?

it's a 10 billion dollar json parser

Nothing it's a json parser. XAMP doing oracles within first weeks casually in between other shit

If fees stay same and useage increases, price of token goes up to accomodate increased useage.
Are you dumb?

I dont know
its opensource so when theres an incentive for an alternative one will show up if there isnt one already

>so wtf do I know.
why did you even bother with the other words

It’s just a meme bro lmfao how do so many newfags fall for this

Fotm pump and dump, wait a year and Zig Forums will start shilling another crypto.

Ya, Im thinking op is a giant faggot and we are ALL gunna make it!

let me check those quads for ya

I know the fee doesnt change but thats in link since the fee is the token, so if the price of the token goes up the fee goes up (in usd or other cryptos), thats what I meant, you get the same problem like with btc, a high price for the token makes the fees go up which disincentivizes its actual use
