Dragon's Dogma, you can actually get some shield bash moves and such so you can use both sword and shield.

I don't want to play those games anymore, same with Dragon's Dogma but I like the style of gameplay. Anything else out there?

Dark Souls, all of them. It's one of the most basic but efficient builds in every game. Block some shit and then stab it.

Because i love the concept of a Monster Hunter game(open world, enter town, pick up monster bounty, track monster, learn its strengths and weaknesses, set up ambush, fight it) but i absolutely abhor everything about japanese fantasy. If the Witcher had a Monster Hunter spinoff i would probably lose my job and die of thirst because i'd never leave my chair.
