Yes. Every time Ashraf's team releases a game, it redeems the franchise, however it immedatly gets killed again by the next game in the series.

I recently started playing Black flag, after dropping it 4 years ago on a mission where I have to pillage some Metal. Honestly, It's pretty fun, considering what shit Is currently being released.

When it first came out a lot of ACfags blasted it for deviating from the traditional assassin story. Now it's usually ranked one of the highest games in the series.

Origins did that, Bayek is unironically up there with Ezio and Edward for me. 38 hours in, only done 5/8 of the Order targets, feels like the glory days all over again, having free reign to chase my targets in whatever order I want, the side quests are all fully voiced with cutscenes and some tie into the events of the main story so it doesn't feel like that dissonance of "you should be stopping the not-Templars not helping strangers", especially since Bayek is duty-bound as a Medjay to help even if he doesn't want to. He's fantastic and I'm already ready to buy the DLCs for it when I'm done. Got to one tomb off the beaten path and ended up having some ayyyyyliens tell me about Desmond and how he only delayed the doomsday event, took me back for a moment and I was left reeling, the fact that shit was OPTIONAL too was incredibly nice.

Haven't played Odyssey yet so if it plummeted the series back into the shitter then yeah, Valhalla may save it since Ashraf Ismail has now made my two fav ACs: Black Flag and Origins, and good things strike in threes.

Witcher 3 is one of my fav RPGs ever and Origins does its combat and exploration leagues better.

We need to bully Ubi into making Ashraf the Hideo Kojima of Ubisoft, the guy has a talent for making incredible AC titles not marred by series stagnation in the slightest. Even Senu, as minor as she is, is a massive remedy to the "climb tower mark everything" formula.

Ashraf doesn't do this. In Origins there's a moment where Egyptians, Bayek's own race, are being racist toward Romans and Greeks and Bayek stands up for the whiteys and tells the Egyptards off for it. Shit, one of the not-Templars is a nog himself.
