Fewer civs than launch AoE2's 12 civilizations

WHO THE FUCK ASKED FOR THIS

if a wanted to play a medieval aoe then i'd play aoe2

literally and unironically, what the fuck were they thinking? where is my ww1/2 rts?

I'm calling it now. They're going to add more civilisations to it later as paid expansions to squeeze more money out of people.

It's because, apparently, they wanted to go for the starcraft route of factions where there are less of them, but between the existing civilizations there is far more diversity between them all in regards to how they function.

Relic sticking to their guns and making sequels have less then the previous game.

>they wanted to go for the starcraft route
more like for the empire earth 3 route, which was a huge piece of shit

Oh, and they picked Medieval ages because it was more accessible and popular. There's an interview about this.

it's the modern times where they slowly roll new updates to keep people interested for longer and "esports".

but i actually prefer quality over quantity so it's fine. rather have some uniqueness instead of mostly copy pasting

More importantly, why is wccf the only site that actually reports on the PC/gaming/hardware scene and not on twitter posts and memes? Isn't it Turkish or something as well?

garbage game. They want to cash in with aoe2 remake 3 or whatever. Aoe4 was supposed to be industrial age until today. Aoe5 today to a far off future.
Why only 12 civs? Tech trees were there for a reason. There isn't that many unique units in aoe to justify only 12 civs.

Wasn't this image not official and just a fan mock up put in a magazine?

I'm fine with that if it means the races are not just copy-pasted with upgrades locked/unlocked and 1-2 actual unique units.

>they're remaking AoE3 with (allegedly) an extra civ or two
>AoE3 looks fine as it is, runs OK too
>AoE3 remake beta was trash
>still going to buy it anyway

after how disastrous dawn of war 3 was I'm assuming this will be shit as well
company was compromised by SJW's

Agreed

If anything, they should have gone back to antiquity, considering how poorly AoE 1 aged

no idea. But it was exactly what 12 year old me wanted

I actually thought that AoE4 was going to be a franchise reboot that would start over from Antiquity. Honestly I feel like that would have been a better move.

Pretty sure it's official

>where is my ww1/2 rts?
It's called Company of Heroes, which is by the same dev is AoE4, BTW

>buying food

age of mythology 2 when?

No. It was the last page of the artbook, I believe as a teaser for future projects.

I remember seeing it in the AoE1 booklet (unless I am going senile)

>IMAGINE BEING SO FAT YOU LOOK AT VIDEOGAMES AND SEE FOOD

Hi, Dobson

modeling buildings for different cultures is tough work guys

You guys are crybabies. AoE2 had a ton of empires yes but they were literally all identical apart from the special unit in the castle. If that type of crap was released today it'd get panned.

>but they were literally all identical apart from the special unit in the castle
lol, looks like someone accidentally turned on All Techs mode

>look, this unit has +2 attack compared to that same unit wielded by a different civ
>that means they're essentially completely different units!
Come on, user, don't play coy.

He's talking about different tech trees having different units.

user, they're all the same fucking units.
