Do you feel like games suck nowadays? Like the last 5-10 years have been breddy shit compared to how it used to be? All I have seen are games focusing on graphics and the movie side of things. I've had the most fun with indie games, I'm tired of watered down everything, specially RPGs. Any oldfags feeling the same? Honestly I barely play games since 2015 or so even tho I keep up with the hardware and news, I just get so bored with these shallow games for zoomers
Do you feel like games suck nowadays? Like the last 5-10 years have been breddy shit compared to how it used to be...
time to marry and raise a family, bros
>just cuck yourself bro
lol no
real chad move is staying single and lying that you’re an astronaut when you dante hundreds of sperm clinics so unwitting women can raise your children with 0 effort on your part
have fun raising a daughter for my 50 sons to gangbang on her high school prom lmao
Divinity was good
AAA kinda sucks now because it's all either movie games or boring open world bullshit. i've been replaying halo 2 since it came out for the master chef collection and it's so much more fun than games these days. i guess it could be nostalgia glasses but i honestly think the gameplay is light years away from the shit that comes out these days. it's definitely much better than destiny 2 at least
Every game made after 2006 is just fucking awful.
>AAA kinda sucks now
>now
tell me, when were AAA games good?
all the old games I’m fond of were AA at best, and usually were barely funded rushed projects
AAA games barely even existed until relatively recently
The first few hours of Kingdom Come were really good too
There have been kusogay since the dawn of vidya.
when halo 2 came out, for one
there was a moment in time when AAA games were largely made by enthusiasts who had genuine passion and who prototyped all sorts of concepts before settling on something that worked. that's how games like halo 2, tf2 and so on were made. nowadays, i doubt ubisoft or naughty dog even bothers with the prototyping phase, they just take whatever worked last time, slightly shift the values and change the assets and call it a day. it's largely because AAA games are too expensive to make now, meaning you can't afford to take risks.
modding used to be way more viable in the past as well. a ton of fresh concepts originally came about through modding, like team fortress, mobas, counter strike, and so on. nowadays AAA companies hate modding because muh paid dlc and season pass, so we don't get that either. the end result is that shit is endlessly derivative because being original is risky and a copycat might reap the rewards.
our best hope is that unreal and other engines make development and prototyping easier and faster, and that could give way to new concepts again.
first of all, halo was garbage even when it came out, a butchered fps with terminal consolitis made for retards who can’t into real fps, you might as well have said gears of war
second, that’s one game, even if pretend it’s good, that’s not what I asked, I asked when were AAA games categorically good, not to name a single isolated case of a good AAA game
The greatest game I played in the past year released in 1999. Nothing else even came close.
Games have only gotten better, the market is just flooded with crap that you have to sift through. Keep in mind you're an old, bitter, jaded grandpa now.
The real problem is all the liveservice skinner box bullshit that's flooded the market.
Games are now designed to sedate, not engage.
2003-2007
The advent of 3D gaming in the 90's was so huge we were getting incredibly innovative, genre-defining titles constantly for several years in a row. No other age is going to be able to compete with that until we hit another huge leap forward in technological capabilities.
>Games have only gotten better
you poor kid, some day you'll understand
What are you talking about? 2017 and on have been fucking amazing compared to the garbage that was the seventh gen and early eighth gen. Only way you think games are bad now is if you're some retard who exclusively plays western AAA games, and even some of those are good now
Stop playing western normieshit
Is this some setup for bio shock and assassin’s creed being good games bait?
Not really. There's tons of new stuff I really enjoyed. There might not be something new and interesting coming out every month, but by backlog is large enough to tide me over for years
Games and game companies are being used by China in order to pacify the US population for an invasion in the upcoming years
Denuvo is a Chinese supported South African root kit that will be used to initate a massive cyberattack once the US and China go to war
I'm serious isn't kinda strange how Denuvo who is owned by Irdeto, which had the first government approved DRM in China, which is in turn owned by Naspers a South African media conglomerate which owns 31% of Tencent shares would release an anticheat with that is pretty much just a rootkit?
Name a few so oldfags can cringe
Welcome to your twenties user
>oldfags
No him but let me guess, people from 2012 are 'oldfags'?
love aiming at the ground and getting kills, it's so good bros
How long are we talking about? From the last 3 years? I'm 30 btw, favorite game is Deus Ex
Yeah, sits terrible. Takes 3-5x as long for titles to come out, less variety and experimentation, dev costs are through the roof so everything has to be safe as fuck. It's terrible
Here's what things used to be like
>5-10 years
>shallow games for zoomers
Seems to be an implication as if none of them would have the same feeling when there's a good chance most of them would.
last 5 maybe? dude I love deus ex, bought the last one day 1 and hated it
