>Living with his parents >Filming in the dining room >Writes, records and performs all by himself >Funny as fuck
>Living in a penthouse in New York >Filming in a profession studio >Has a team of over a dozen people on staff doing writing, set design, costumes etc. >Unfunny boring shill
He thinks that production value will automatically make his content funnier. There's an old episode of Game Grumps where him and Arin got into an argument about it and for once Arin was in the right saying that production value doesn't affect humor.
Jack Gomez
damn shame. He's still funny sometimes but you can tell what was written by him and what was just provided.
Oliver Richardson
arin would say that though since he's such a lazy fuck
Adam Watson
I can't believe John "Nigger Safari" Jafari the Iranian white supremacist sold out like this bros...
Anthony Jenkins
>production value doesn't affect humor. It DOES though, it makes it worse, you subconsciously notice how scuffed everything is and smile at it.
Grayson Sanders
Literally who?
Hudson Green
He was never funny.
Brody Roberts
He got older
Ian Barnes
>Chris, please let me be on a let's play.
Kayden Clark
He still is?? It's the other way around actually.
Jaxson Price
didn't he just move to the UK
Jaxon Jenkins
It was the same with Sam Hyde Him bullying his mom was hilarious
>you’re older >you still live in your moms basement >not in a penthouse
Big mad big sad user
Gabriel Flores
I suppose now that he has more fans he has to be more careful and also pander to the lowest common denominator.
Angel Robinson
he was never funny again after he left game grumps
Hudson Jenkins
True. No matter how much production value he puts into it, GG is still not funny.
Elijah Myers
Bad production values are good for campy or absurdist humour but high production values allow for more elaborate setups, scenarios or punchlines. Blazing Saddles or Monty Python’s The Crimson Permanent Assurance skit from the start of The Meaning of Life are good examples of jokes that would be brutally difficult to make with a shoestring youtube budget.
There really has to be a medium with production value. At the time, the reason AVGN Bugs Bunny skits were so funny was because of how “cheap” it looked. We obviously knew it wasn’t Bugs Bunny and just some guy in a costume throwing bags of pudding or something. But the over the top-ness if the situation is what made it funny rather than the believability. A lot of the reason humor fails today is that it tries too hard in certain aspects, especially believability.
Jaxon Green
watched his disney bootleg video recently. it's weird cause some of the jokes and comedic elements like the bootleg puppets and reacting to simba hanging himself had at least a hint of being funny, but then he cuts to some retarded twerk or puts on a dress and it feels completely devoid of humor. he was always more funny with honest reactions and coupling comedic skits with some darker undertone.
Xavier Butler
The truth is the best creative products are produced from a dark place of misery and suffering, that's why when people become successful their creations quality suffers
The shit he does nowadays is entertaining in a braindead way, just like classic television, but it certainly is not FUCKING VIDEO GAMES.
Gavin Myers
who's this cool gal?
Nathan Reyes
> Blazing Saddles or Monty Python’s The Crimson Permanent Assurance skit from the start of The Meaning of Life are good examples of jokes that would be brutally difficult to make with a shoestring youtube budget Good thing Jon is not even close to the level in which you are describing.
That whole interview in his newest video is cringe.
Zachary Ward
With sam all his more talented and funny partners left him, and now he takes experimental dick pills, testosterone injections, and fucks trannys.
Brandon Gonzalez
what was his name again?
Joseph Scott
How exactly do his new videos have a higher production value? He may have more props to fuck around with, and the camera and set are high quality but it's still him commenting on random shit.
Xavier Phillips
All he had to do was not abandon video games. The odd video on some stupid infomercial from 3 decades ago is okay, but entirely abandoning the content that made you popular in the first place is just shitty.
I doubt his opinions have changed much, he just has the sense to not express them publicly again.
Jace Lopez
>All Jon has to do is be good as Monthy Python That is NEVER gonna happen.
Colton Roberts
Jon is hardly /vidya/ these days though.
Josiah Roberts
I mostly stopped watching him after he stopped reviewing games. His newer shit just isn't as funny.
Anthony Long
he abandoned his older influences of AVGN and RLM in favor of more H3H3 style video content which is awful and sucks
