Terraria

>can turn biome spread off instantly
>can change difficulty on the fly
>can make it harder than master by increasing enemy spawns to 10x
>can make it easier than normal by enabling god mode or reducing enemy spawns
>difficulty is a slider moving in increments of 5 from 0 to 400, not just set options
>can manipulate time and weather at will for screenshots
>can duplicate items without fucking around with save editors if you want

Where were you when you realised journey mode is the only mode anyone will be playing a year from now?

Whoops, I placed a torch! Now everyone in this thread has their drop rates halved. Sorry about that!

It's pretty fun. Only think I dislike is it makes currency obsolete.

Jokes on you, i just walked past a ladybug and now my droprates are doubled.

>playing with a pal
>just dupe items that are annoying to get like fishfinder so we can both have one and building materials
>turn off biome spreading cause who wants that shit?
Having a blast.
Even just trying to build proper houses for the first time is fun.

tfw just read the wiki article and it being halved/doubled isn't even an exaggeration

Why did they have luck affect the chance of the doubling and not the scale of the change in drop rates? That seems insane to me. Is there some valid probability-based reason that this is a better approach than just scaling drop rates with luck?

maybe you could make duplicated things worthless? and well obviously make it so can't dublicate coins

cope

Got to hardmode for the first time, how the fuck do I destroy crimson
Just throwing powder is probably not a good idea

>can make it easier than normal by enabling god mode or reducing enemy spawns
>can duplicate items without fucking around with save editors if you want

Yeah I'm gonna not play that, thanks senpai. inb4 "just don't use it". LOL, let's play basketball, but I get a button in my pocket that gives me a 3 pointer whenever I press it. I promise not to use it though :)

Have fun on whatever difficulty you choose!

i made 15 medium maps in search of a sandstorm in a bottle 3 had pyramids, out of these none had the sandstorm
is there any other way to get the sandstorm in a bottle

Attached: 1582769073235.jpg (331x331, 51.7K)

But why, isn't it literally the same shit as cloud and tsunami in the bottle with minor visual differences

yeah, ask one of the easy mode players to dupe one for you

but i want the 3 balloons in 1

Enter 3.3.1.1341940070 into seed, go left

The analogy to a competitive game doesn't really work

>journyfags still seething
Why do people care what people play anyway

It's really not worth the effort.

>minor
If I can't Spin2Win, I don't even want to play

tsunami and sandstorm are better than the cloud in a bottle. it speeds you horizontally like hermes boots, and sandstorm has the biggest air time.

Fair point. Instead, I have a win-argument button, but to preserve the spirit of this discussion I promise not to press it. Jk I pressed it, and you lost the argument permanently

It absolutely is worth the effort on Master

What prefixes should I be going for if I want max damage as summoner?

Didn't mean to reply

it is i want the balloons

I got an easy pyramid on my first map. Now I'm trying to find a map with a Blizzard In A Bottle and have spent like 5 hours on ten different maps to no avail.

post cave bases

You got me there

>using items from a different world

You realize this is cheating, right?

>a map with a Blizzard In A Bottle
Are you just to lazy to search your underground snow/go fishing?

i found it very easily because a railway in my hellhole sent me to the underground ice with some houses
good luck user hope you find it soon

I haven't really played this game since before hardmode even existed. There are too many crafting stations at this point to just have them all in a row. How do I cluster them? Is it essential to have a plain workbench next to them all?

The whole thing with searching other worlds really fucks the progression up for me because I never have any idea when to go and do it.

Havent played terraria in 2 years whats journey mode

>got the gold fishing rod
>Still don't have the sextant
Come on

It's a new difficulty mode which gives you access to all the above features, with the catch that you can only play on worlds specifically designed for it during world generation.

ez mode for cheaters, see

>can't get exclusive items

Truly a baffling change, but once you got a garden gnome and some ladybugs, it becomes a non issue.

TEDIT IS UPDATED
I JUST TESTED 3 TIMES AND IT WORKED

Yikes

Terraria is the perfect podcast/audiobook game. What else do you guys play while listening to podcasts/audiobooks/music? I've just been playing Terraria mainly.

On weapons, Ruthless according to the wiki. Reasoning behind it seems fine

that moss is kino

Yes you can lol

same, i was listening to joe rogan just now

easy mode for spic shitters
i was under the impression that the reason it exists is ass training wheels for children and/or weird roleplay fags to use as a dm tool but evidently south america is far more drawn to it than the intended audience

You totally can though.

Y-yes you can...l-lol
terraria.gamepedia.com/Expert_mode#Expert-exclusive_items

Only crafting bench, anvil, and forge are really important.
Most of the others are pretty situational, so just put them somewhere in you base whereever there's some space.

Where were you when you realized 1.4 is not a content update but a QOL one.
Barely any new items, and they are all shit anyway, only cool thing is the summoner related ones.
Pretty fucking disappointing bros ngl

Attached: terraria update.png (1607x1579, 238.84K)

it truly is, too bad its so rare i spent like 3 hours looking for it on a large world

user, those do drop in journey when you set the difficulty slider to expert.
Same goes for master.

i only play on normal with casual characters
am i really missing out?

Journey mode literally has a mob difficulty slider, which, when set to 2.00, enables all expert-only items and events. Same for master.

I have literally already obtained expert-only items, user. You get the gold statues for killing master bosses, too. All other difficulties are literally obsolete.

Attached: difficulty.png (433x417, 55.76K)

Great, thanks user. I set up one which gave me the option to craft statues in the shape of letters and it spammed the absolute shit out of my list and it needs to go.

No.
Expert mode has a few boring items thats it.

Are you being retarded on purpose, you can get those in journey you just need to set the difficulty slider to master at a minimum to get them.

Trying poorly to mask the fact that Journey mode is glorified easy mode for babies. Its what I imagine Minecraft autistics go for since their game had no sense of real progression and they want to do whatever without truly being challenged.

>beat moon lord on all four difficulties
>decide to play all future playthroughs on your least favorite difficulty
>tfw no one can stop me

Attached: cymbalmonkey.png (568x377, 202.14K)

Kinda. You don't get drops from bosses and you end up missing out on a accessory slot, though since you're playing normal you wouldn't really need it.

For instance
terraria.gamepedia.com/Treasure_Bags

expert my bad.

where were you when you realized this game came out like a decade ago, costs like $2 to buy and still gets massive updates for free?
