Any sort of SSD is a MASSIVE upgrade over the PS4/Xbone, as long the games are created with it in mind.
The PS4/Xbone took around 160 seconds to fill the memory whole using it's harddrive.
Just to put in context, the neo geo CD takes 70 seconds to do the same.
We just don't have monstrous loads on that console because we don't do fighting games that use the whole memory, instead we do long levels that slowly load with some or lot of pop in.
An absolute piece of shit SSD with 1GB/s, not 2, not 5.5, 1.
It takes 8 seconds to fill a PS4/Xbone memory, and 16 seconds to fill a next gen console memory.
It's literally 20 times faster.
