Why did the X series aged worse than the rest of the Megaman series?...

why did the X series aged worse than the rest of the Megaman series?,playing zero or the others feel fine but the X series feels like they put a lot of shit mixed without a clear direction

I mean the only good X game was X1 and even that one is way too easy but the OST is sex so everyone looks past its easy difficulty.

>Oh no Sigma is fucking the world!
>Defeats him
>He keeps fucking coming back each game
This series could have been better if they had better villains than fucking sigma

It didn’t, Megaman X is the single SNES game that aged the best

Because it didnt
I love all the X games specially the last 4

>playing megaman
>not skipping text

It's like you WANT to be autismal

It didn't age, X5-7 were shit when they released

Early games aged pretty well, later ones were shit upon release and are still shit.

And Zero has aged like shit too. It's all blind jumps, spikes, and punishes you for using the games own built in systems. Of course, like the later X games, that was shit when it came out too. So there you go I guess.

I'm playing x4 right now and it honestly feels boring,is x5 really that bad?

X didn't age. Most of the series was always shit.
That includes 3 and 4 you contrary little fags.

It's worse than 4, I'll tell you that

Inafune put off making X5 because he didn't want to kill off Zero, but when he got the greenlight for the Zero series he dashed X5 off quickly to wrap up X and focus on Zero. X6 was a rush job with issues (somewhat fixed by a fan patch) by another team, X7 was an awkward attempt to revitalize it with a new character and 3D, while yet another team took X8 and actually made some creative changes that might've brought the series somewhere if X6 and X7 (and Command Mission to a lesser extent) hadn't tainted the reputation beyond repair.

X1, X2, and X4 were the only good games in the series. The rest range from mediocre to just plain awful.

It's bland and boring (outside of a few moments) despite throwing in a bunch of experimental mechanics like a global time limit and level scaling bosses.

To recap
>X1: Good game
>X2: More of the same with a bit extra tacked on
>X3: Trashy outsourced more of the same
>X4: DUDE LORE, DUDE GRAPHICS, DUDE LOOK IT'S ZERO DO YOU LIKE ZERO but the level design is absolute trash and the game is baby easy.
>X5: Poorly designed mess of a game.
>X6: Poorly designed mess.
>X7: Poorly designed mess.
>X8: Mediocre.

X6 is more fun than X4, and I'm not even going to pretend X6 is a good game.

A lot of things were worse in X2 and everything was different by X4. The X series was consigned to mediocrity immediately after the first game.

>Classic, Battle Network, Zero, ZX: The second game is when the dev team figures out what worked and what didn't, signals a massive improvement moving forward.
>Legends and Star Force: The second game wasn't as good, but the other game was very good so it's not big deal.
>X: The second game is significantly worse than the first and every subsequent game doubles down on the kinds of choices 2 made.

Legends 2 plays so much better than 1 that it's not even funny.

This.

>OH LOOK HERE, WEVE CREATED THIS LITTLE CREATURES THAT HELPS YOU!!
>ok ill take this one...
>OH NO YOU KILLED THE LITTLE THING! YOU ARE AWFUL!! HERE EAT THIS E RANK YOU COWARD FAGGOT

In MegaMan you just drink the Etank and nobody cares.

The direction of the X series went down the drain after X4, and on top of that later series like Zero and ZX would refine the controls even further.

I just find it hard to get into the classic series after getting so used to having dashing and wall jumps from the sequel series.

Cyber Elves were always a crutch for casual players. Having them die and negatively affect your rank is motivation to get better at the game. Same with EX skills.

>A lot of things were worse in X2
I didn't notice a particular dip in quality.
>and everything was different by X4
It was on PS1 instead of SNES but X4 is probably the closest to recapturing X1's clear cut focus alongside X2. If one thing can be said about X4 it's that it's pure as fresh snow, virtually no filler. X3 was overstuffed and X5 onwards is...well, X5 onwards.

>he can't S rank or complete the game without them

And then you get to Nino Ruins.

He's still not wrong, it was VERY dumb of the Zero series to provide such an in-depth mechanic as cyber elves and then punish the player for using them. Why even include them at all?

>hurr dhurr ranks

Ranks are fucking cancer in every game. Do they even let you repeat the levels once you beat the game in the Zero series?

Worst of all, he’s not charming, evil nor memorable. He’s as boring and generic as a villain can be.

There's New Game+

Wily kept coming back too? At least in X8 Sigma is supposedly dead for good.

So yo get the best rank you gotta do it after clear the game... Welp, maybe Ill try that.

You can revisit stages starting in Zero 2 onwards by talking to the transporter. Zero 1 doesn't really have that per say.

>I didn't notice a particular dip in quality.
It's pretty noticeable when you go through the hunter stages.

he's coded evil and extremely persistent, plus he's been around a while so it kinda gets a pass
