it's one of the least strategic "strategy" games of all time, as long as you level your characters and get a few meta skills you'll win every encounter easily
the AI is pathetically stupid, you can always predict exactly what it's going to do and who it'll attack, hell the newest game outright shows you who it'll attack and what the likely outcome will be so you can cheese the AI even harder than before. the AI hasn't gotten any more intelligent since the first Fire Emblem game, they just added more gimmicks and stat bloat to hide the fact that the core gameplay and """"strategy"""" never changes
the only way it can even approach anything resembling strategy is by putting the difficulty to maximum which doesn't make the AI more intelligent it just gives all the enemies bloated stats
even the multiplayer pvp is garbage because the person who did the most grinding with the most amiibos wins every time
