Retard finally beat OoT:

It was pretty shitty desu that you needed the fire arrow to get past the Spirit Medallion room in Ganon's temple, with absolutely zero indication that you needed it. But the rest of the final dungeon was fine and that battle and credits scene... pure kino.
Don't know if I'd say it's the best game of all time, but it's definitely a solid choice.
Now what order should I play the rest? I want to beat at least one without a guide

Play Minish Cap, it's short

play majora's mask next, it's also one of the best zeldas

and it has the same engine as oot and its funny as fuck seeing them reuse the models, like the witches are now nice potion shop owners and do shrooms

>I want to beat at least one without a guide
MM is the one that needs a guide the most

OP, play twilight princess, its as straightforward as it gets

>MM is the one that needs a guide the most
OP here. Without spoilers, do you care to explain? I was planning on MM next.

i beat it without a guide but im a seasoned zelda player so i know what to look for.

but yeah some stuff will have you ramming your head for a few hours. i recommend playing with save states desu, so you dont have to redo some dungeons and stuff. otherwise youll beat it, you just have to explore around a lot

oh and one thing i'd recommend is DON'T START A DUNGEON ON THE FINAL DAY, just reset time and also SLOW time and then do it.

otherwise you'll be like me who entered the first temple and had to basically speedrun it. progress will be lost when you reset, you only keep masks and certain important stuff (like activated owl statues stay activated so you can quick warp)

You can probably beat MM by yourself But getting the most complete ending by collecting all the masks will most likely have you scrambling for guides.

I was upset you needed Din's Fire and didn't get a clue that you needed it or that it existed.

>Needing the fire arrow.
Refresh my memory, how did they do it? Was there ice? Or something else?

Majora's Mask is just a really dense game. The sheer amount of shit to do between all the collectibles, masks, and just general side quests can be really overwhelming for newer players when combined with the timer and keeping up with the in-game schedule. You will fuck up a quest, you will make mistakes and waste an entire cycle, it's just how the game works, and it can be infuriating.

Must be a different user. I got that one as soon as I could.

>Beat one without a guide
Play anything past Zelda 1 without being retarded and you're set

I almost feel bad for Gen Z kids and how they were raised to be idiots.

yeah i needed guides for collecting a few masks.

like wtf the postman's hat? why would i give that slow ass the priority mail when i can run it over faster myself?

There was a hole in the ceiling that had some spiderweb looking thing blocking the light. You could try all day with bombchus, light arrows, regular arrows, playing the Song of Sun (or any song), hookshot, etc. but none of it would do a damn thing. I got the idea to shoot an arrow through the torch but the switch gets in your way so you can't make the shot.
I didn't realize that you had to take the plaque at Lake Hylia literally and shoot an arrow at the sun.

Could you not use Din's Fire? IDK, seems like they wouldn't do that sort of thing but the last time I played was about five years ago.

Believe me, I tried, Even if you stand in the dead center of the room it doesn't have enough range.

play wind waker, go for hd port if you must

haha look at him go

I know they had to split between the present and past but goddamn I do not remember Labrynna being so fucking small. Or having so much water.

I’m replaying OOT right now and there’s at least two or three instances where the game tells you to go find the Great Fairy by the castle.

play wind waker next

>lttp
That was my first one, but I got stuck on the third crystal dungeon in the dark world and haven't gone back since. Also I revile the graphics

>Now what order should I play the rest?
If you're really the kind of person that needs some kind of arbitrary order to play a series in then just play in order of release like most fans do.

a lot of games appear tiny from the birds eye view but yea zeldas do a lot dont they

>without a guide

BotW is pretty fun if you know how to play more RPG like games like any Elder Scrolls game.

Zelda II

Only true flaws of this game to me is King Dodongo was a lazy boss fight and the time block in the Water Temple is hard to find because its behind a chest, which can really through off your progress and make you back track for hours after getting to the next locked door trying to figure out what you missed.

Most of the Zelda games can be beaten without a guide, though only "most". The extra content is where shit always gets tangled, and a select couple games like Oracle of Ages are gonna hurt if you're not good at puzzles.

I thought 23 year olds loved Ocarina of Time.
