Take one step out of tutorial

>Take one step out of tutorial
>Random encounter with enemies who just one shot crit everyone on normal difficulty while everyone in my party misses every swing
>Look up what the fuck this shit is
>WELL user YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO SPEND 5 YEARS RESEARCHING CRPG MECHANICS UNIQUE TO THIS SPECIFIC SERIES AND KNOW THAT YOU NEEDED TO OPTIMIZE YOUR BUILDS FOR EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER
this is what these shit games are like? fuck off lmao

get skilled

unironically yes

>KNOW THAT YOU NEEDED TO OPTIMIZE YOUR BUILDS FOR EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER
kek, no you don't. 2/10.

Love the game. Only one complaint.

Swarms.

Fucking christ. Hope you have someone that is trained in throwing shit or use fire because these things will wipe your whole party.

Yes, you do
>Literally just following the main story
>Random boar enemy
>Walk up, get hit for 17 damage which is over 1/2 of my heavy armor frontliner's HP
wow...outskilled

>bait
no one is this dumb to not understand dice roll mechanics

Sounds like you built like shit, so yeah, outskilled.

Considering the game literally doesn't explain or indicate a single fucking thing as to what anyone does unless you're already familiar with DnD terminology shit sounds like a problem of the game

Cmon, the difficulty is not this game's problem. You can even respec three times or something for free. The real problem is the bland plot and writing.

are you blind? did you miss the giant green and red thumbs up and down symbols on the your screen when you level up a character. Those are there for RETARDS like you that dont understand how to read

>30 health
>frontliner
kek

>being this bad
Alright, I'm assuming you played on normal because if you had no experience in this genre and chose anything higher then you deserve this
Bro, cc is very important. Yeah you can save scum. But the game literally gives out great game advice in loading screens, dont fucking multiclass if you dont know what you're doing.
It was tough at first but every class excels at something and the first mission should've taught you what the fuck is going on.
Buy health pots or get a cleric

Armor isnt DR so its totally irrelevant what you're wearing if/when you do get hit.

Literally everything I spec'd into was something the game recommended

no retard, as someone who played pathfinder for 4 years I can tell you that nothing prepares anyone for rogues on unfair mode with 3 party members. you're basically fucked. its a crime you cant skip the intro. its increadibly unpolished.

And no I am not a pleb, if you haven't faced an encounter with over 1000 hp and 3 initiatives before level 11 don't even talk to me.

I'm disregarding OP's faggotry.

Is Pathfinder worth playing? I've played DnD 5e for about a year somewhat consistently and I've been having a blast. I'd be interested in another style of table-top.

>multi-class
Not sure how I would even do that when I'm only level 2
>Get a cleric
How? mercenaries are fucking 2k gold

Getting the turn based mod is immensely helpful for planning shit and getting the most out of every turn (or whatever you want to call the rtwp system). I tried with and without and had a lot more fun with. Especially pleasing if you're an autist. Then it's just a matter of finding shit that stacks.

it isnt, the game is fine itself with some house rules but almost no one understands how to dm it and everyone who did has already moved on. if you are not using the turn based mod now is a good time to change that. the game is shit and basically broken on release. you may as well cheat your way throuhg the tutorial or give your party arbitrary level ups in the beginning so you're not fucked by the rediculous oversaturation of enemies and poison before you can even deal with it.

Get better DR/armor and don't fight enemies that are too strong for you. Wow, so much optimization.

>CRPG MECHANICS
What does it have to do with CRPG, you absolute moron? God, you're dumb.

That's the first filter.

Legitimately everything is explained if you hover your mouse over it.

I think one of the problems with Pathfinder is that it is too similar to 3.5e, which if you know anything about, had a lot of soul and good ideas but had horrible mechanics which made it a nightmare to play.

I don't know anything about 2E though, I heard they are trying a completely new battle system.

You need to use abilities, you know that, right?

what system you should use depends on what you want to do

Plot is good, writing is good. Stop being an edgy teenager.

It's a fun game for the most part.

>FUCK TIMED QUESTS
>FUCK KINGDOM MANAGEMENT
>FUCK LOADING TIMES NEAR THE END WHEN YOUR SAVE FILE IS GIGANTIC

3.5 OR DIE

>and don't fight enemies that are too strong for you
Literally how am I supposed to know where enemies that are too strong are?

The first fucking quest I got took me to some fucking spider swarms I can't even hit with the fire potions they gave me to kill them

where the fuck was I supposed to get abilities? I'm level 2 and none of the feat shit I have access to gives me any of that

>Is Pathfinder worth playing?
TL;DR: No.

This isn't even an edition wars thing.
The only reason Pathfinder even exists is that people hated 4E and wanted to go back (despite not being particularly fond of 3/3.5E to begin with). It's not quite 4E's boardgame/MMO "a rule for everything," but it sure makes up for it with layers of needless statistical bloat.
Genuinely, the only things it did well it took from earlier editions (B/X's standardized ability bonuses, ascending AC, et cetera).
And 5E is pretty much (for all its faults many faults) the best distillation of D&D's best ideas.

If you're interested in branching out from 5E, try an entirely different system. Not 3.5 with the serial numbers filed off.

Bro I'm an RPG brainlet who doesn't give a shit about mechanics and still didn't get filtered that early.
Still had to cheat to beat the endgame though.

This. Swarms are so tiresome.

Unfair has nothing to do with pf, it's an insane experience that you can't survive without extreme cheesing and prepping out the ass.

Im filtered at chapter 3 right now. Fuck vordakai's tomb and its cyclops

I'm a big fan of PnP, so I knew fire would be useful. I believe they toned it down in a recent patch though; so you should be peachy.

>I want to play the one where in combat healing doesn't work.
lol okay fag.

>Literally how am I supposed to know where enemies that are too strong are?
By facing them and getting your ass beat, how else? Is this your first video game?

unfair is shit yes, but every difficulty lower is also way too fucking easy.
