Yandere Simulator

So what has yandere dev (Yandev) done wrong? I'd like a full timeline.

Nothing, he's the perfect human being.

He really think he look like that huh?
That's some Chris-chan tier delusion

Pretty sure it's fan art.

Yandev hasn't done anything wrong. He is a beloved member of our board and anyone who says otherwise is just committing slander against him.

very bad at making his weeb hitman clone

Why are y'all niggers so obsessed with this Guy?

because he's a Zig Forumsirgin

He's a pedophile. Everything else, including not being very good at programming, pales in comparison to that single thing.

I empathize with the idea of making a game all by yourself
But I also see the problems with him not setting restrictions behind the production of the game.
When a person doesn't limit their creativity, they begin to wander too far from the goal they set out for in the beginning.
From what I've seen from him as a person, he's a faggot, but I believe if he restricted his imagination he would've reached his goals in a more realistic manner.
I do not care for the code efficiency if it gets the job done because I myself see the engineering of a game as a difficult thing..
Most people shitposting about the code have never written a program, or started learning programming from a non-educated standpoint so I try to see the viewpoint of the guy.
If he set realistic goals, he would've achieved them, but he keeps getting sidetracked by things he feels are interesting.
Take this with a grain of salt, as I'm very drunk and listening to fart noises on youtube.

he doesnt use several parts of C# in any of his code even when it would make it much easier. he learned the basics and ran with it user. never used a switch statement at all and shoved it all into a single .cs

>I do not care for the code efficiency if it gets the job done because I myself see the engineering of a game as a difficult thing..
It's not that his code is not perfect and therefore the game doesn't run optimally, it's that his code is amazingly bad and the performance is absolutely horrendous. People aren't ridiculing him because if he just tweaked his code a little he'd get an extra 10fps, they're ridiculing him because the entirety of the code base is so bad a game that should barely strain a toaster and easily get well over 100fps requires a beast of a machine and struggles to maintain 30fps. There's bad code and then there's BAD code. It would be forgivable, we are talking about a self taught amateur, but the real problem is has outright rejected good advice on how to improve, is openly hostile to people who try to help and lives in this delusional world where he actually really good at programming.

He has basically been making his game full time for years. Any normal person would be done by now, but he's just milking it for Patreon dollars. I don't personally care, but it's clearly a scam like Star Citizen. It's interesting to check on it every once in a while and see the game is no closer to release.

non experienced programmer here, what's the difference between a switch and a bunch of else ifs? is switch more efficient or it just looks better?

Persona 5 wasn't even released yet. It was Personas 4. Hell, in the early builds, the school was just a straight copy of Yasogami high.

Who cares about releasing the game when there's emails to be read and worked up over?

>Original game idea: You have to kill students in a school, if someone sees you they'll freak out and call the police, and you lose. Also if you do successfully kill someone, the school will become more secure and people will be on edge, making it harder
>Years later
>Yandere Dev: I played Hitman the other day and when I ran up and stabbed my target people shot at me, and I realized that doesn't happen in Yandere Sim so it's too easy so I added an invincible bodyguard to the first target in the game! I'm so good at game design!

How is Dexter's Lab weeb?

I've only used if and or statements in my c programming class, and i honestly can't remember using switch statements if i did, how does a switch statement improve the efficiency?
I've watched a few videos on him and I've seen how the game doesn't handle shadows well at all. I do not defend him if he's received advice and rejected it because i did not know of that.
If he has rejected help, then he is as shitty as the videos i have watched have portrayed him to be
I am also curious as to what engine he is using

The problem was Zig Forums

>Also there's now ten new eastereggs, one makes Yandere-chan look like frickin' Keanu! Isn't that hella epic?

He keeps responding to my stupid questions in emails

it is only slightly beneficial performance wise, but it is an example of how he refuses to structure his code in a way that would vastly improve his ability to organize and make spur of the moment changes without it taking so long. he might just be taking so long to make the game because he refuses to restructure his code ina way that gives him greater control and makes it easier in the long run

his game mascot is a stock 3d model

>If he has rejected help, then he is as shitty as the videos i have watched have portrayed him to be
>I am also curious as to what engine he is using
unity and c#. he used unityscript until 2017
he has rejected the help from a publisher (tinybuild) and failed to credit the work of a volunteer artist

Why do people give so much attention to this shit?
Only becase is some com shit with "yandere" in the tittle?
The gameplay is fucking garbage.

You're right. We should have shut him down when it became apparent he was just a big idea guy without the talent to back it up, instead of encouraging him.

No, the problem was Yandev being a huge arrogant fag who still can't stand critique on his perfect game and refined humor and only wants a "community" sucking his dick 24/7.

This is defeatist. Talent and skills are learned no matter what it seems like. YanDev is def a con artist though

>I am also curious as to what engine he is using
Unity.

Let me just clarify exactly what sort of developer we are talking about here. He has complained that the Unity crash message instructs the user to send the crash report to the developer because he has no idea how to read the crash reports and has no intention of ever learning. It's not "Yes, I know it's buggy but I'm still in alpha. I'll get to that stuff when I get to beta.", it's "Fucking Unity tells people to send me crash logs. That's stupid. I don't know how to read them and don't want to know. This is one of the worst things about using Unity."

There was a clear point where it was over for him, where he just kept tacking on dumb features and kept bringing up his shitty scythe girl action game where it became apparent he was just an idea guy.

Tartakovsky was influenced by anime

Bro. His game uses over 8gb memory while idling in the school hallways and fluctuates ~100 or ~200 mb. He fucked up somewhere
