ultimecia never controls things from the future, it's her dead ghoat that entered edeas body, the game though never makes it clear that the ultimecia you fight in her castle is not the same as the one possessing rinoa

Squall is dead theory is one of the dumbest things I read. That the guy who wrote it kept spamming it on GameFAQs constantly to try to get anyone talking about it just mad it sad.

Ultimecia literally states in the fight that she's going to read Squall's mind and conjure the strongest GF based on what he thinks, which is Griever.

She literally explains where Griever comes from right before summoning it.
