that was back when blizzard was alright

So whats different today about wow?

Arennt they still doing this sort of mumbling for shadowlands?

I think its blizzard as a whole. They shifted from wanting to make great games with depth to wanting money. if you look at starcraft, 2 has no where near the technical depth that brood war has, and it was designed around "evo moments" where you ram one big army into another and whoever wins that fight wins the game.
where 1 is more positioning, and slowly chipping away.
wow changed, now you just wait in your garrison, instead of exploring or finding guilds

Didnt they remove complexity isnt complexity why people like classic、 not that i care video games is a waste of time anyways but yeah whats your /played time chump

Bump

Garrisson?? That's WoD

forgive him, he doesn't play the game he just complains about it

No but thats ok WoD is part of the game i liked WoD it was the best expansion

>isnt complexity why people like classic

classic is significantly less complex than retail

Classic includes burning crusade

Maybe youre referring to.vanilla.and even then youre wrong. Loads of stats and skills are removed so youre a

Well not really no, at least from a raiding perspective. And before you start, I don't play retail, it's absolutely shit but complexity isn't the issue.

What?

Troll

Real mmo nerds want complexitt around item picking and customization to min/max their output

Kek im just too lazy to correct myself

WoW now
>Weekly one-man solo dungeon to upgrade your legendary item which you got for doing nothing, it is rewarded from a simple questline you can do by just being level 120.

>Weekly one-man grind in two rotating old zones; Uldum and Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Only half of the zone is used each week and you grind shitty things for 20 minutes, kill some boring 5-man normal boss that you can solo in 30 seconds, and it rewards currency that you use to do the weekly one-man solo dungeon to upgrade your legendary item

>A boring raid with shit bosses. All bosses easy. Easy bosses in this raid. Only hard part is not grouping with low-IQ or shitters (for real).

>Mythic+ (Awakened is okay I guess but that's like saying shitting is better than pissing, in no way does this make the game interesting, it's a drop in a bucket)

>Daily quests which involve 30+ minutes flying around trying to find some small thing which has a 5 minute respawn timer and is used-up by a single player interaction

>Timelocked races.

>Boring reputation grinds which take 20+ minutes or so for just 50 rep.

Only Mythic+ is interesting and I've even got bored of that. I'm geared, sitting on good stats, no need for anything atm. Bored as fuck. Once you get to a certain iLvl it's kind of like, "what the fuck is there to do now? I've done it all." You're not missing out on anything.

Possibly classic will even include wotlk or they will someone get everyone into shadowlands

Is mmorpg concept dead? As people are moving unto mobile?

their metric of success is not subscriber numbers (how many people are playing), but is now measured by total revenue of the game (which includes in game microtransactions).
They stopped showing subcount publicly.

they literally stopped caring about player numbers and started caring about how to best milk the current playerbase.

I don't think it's dead but you need to pull off a lot of things to make it work nowadays and it's perhaps the least efficient type of videogame to develop

The MMO sociality is dead, the RPG has been streamlined, leaving it feeling unsatisfying on both counts. Who the fuck is WoW even made for anymore? It's a loot treadmill in its utter entirety with no redeeming qualities beyond that. Maybe the viral lockdown is changing that as I saw 20+ people in Orgrimmar last night talking to each other in /say chat for 3 hours, having a mount-off, etc. though it might have just been a fucking STREAMER whoring for content.

Yea i used to be the only one chatting in the trade just to get some communication going. I got banned a lot but i dont regret

Maybe they should make killing bosses harder again and getting good gear much harder. Thats what killed the game everyone getting the good loot without having to do effort for it

Just make bosses fuck hard

Level ??

Remember that first time you walked from goldshire to westfall without doing any quest and you saw that level?? Mech harvester come at you.

>nooo u cant be excited for video games
>u have to hate all games to fit inot the Zig Forums secret club!!!!
>nooooooo stop liking video games!!!!!11
