Why can't Bethesda seem to grasp that Fallout isn't just strictly 50's retrofuturism? There's elements of it in 1, 2, and new vegas, but it's so much more heavily stressed in the Bethesda games

It's their game. They get to decide what fits and what doesn't.
Bethesda is filled with unimaginative cretins who don't know their asshole from their elbow and can only envision concepts as the most exaggerated parodies possible.
The series wasn't popular until Bethesda took over. Deal with it, nerds.
Don't worry about it Bethesda fallout isn't canon
>cult classic
>not popular
i hate you niggers yall niggers make my ass itch and im talking bout for real for real
Because it's memeable and your average fallout fan thinks the inkspots are an ingame creation
From cult classic to massive franchise, I'd say Bethesda did a good job
They only care about marketable identity, that and their idea of "black humour" starts and ends at pop culture reference and "ohhh hehe look at the silly nanny robit still thinks the world is fine hehehe"
Popular doesn't mean good.
No creativity, once the BoS were the good guys I knew the last good writer at Betheada had died
reminder that Van Buren would've broke the world worse than any of you think the Bethesda Fallouts did
also, jet is made from brahmin amphetamine shit

Except it's both now.
Blame Avellone.
...But they do understand that? They're just the only ones that ever did anything with it than make silly references towards the 50s?
Nah becoming popular has made the franchise worse, there's nothing wrong with things being niche. Things that aren't as popular aren't restricted artistically as things that are popular. Well known things have to follow a formulaic trend to appease to the most people and be dumbed down as a result as the average person can't even think for themselves.
This destroys the butthurt grognard.
Yes the height of quality is going out of business.
I thought everyone knew this
this
Well Fallout 1 had such a complex story because it needed an in depth world to stand out as a crpg.
But now that Fallout is a huge major series, there is no reason to have it be so complex.
Based khan0plinger
>complex story to stand out
>its just a Mad Max 2 rip off.
Beth have simply never understood it as a setting. In fairness, none of them were responsible for creating it in the first place.
>Why can't Bethesda seem to grasp that Fallout isn't just strictly 50's retrofuturism?
Because their player base couldn't either and it's been "lol wacky wasteland hijinks" for so long that only the old guard care, and they don't buy Bethesda.
>it's been "lol wacky wasteland hijinks" for so long that only the old guard care
>he doesn't know
Fallout 1 was a bog standard fantasy tale told in a different setting
Start in remote village
Visit small town to get an idea of tbe world.
Visit town with noble sherriff and bad guy
Move on to find out about the evil wizard
Join an order of nights
Beat evil wizard and orc army.
I don't think this is some great secret.
I must have missed the super mutants, the juxtaposition of "do I risk my people by guaranteeing them help or do I risk their them by playing it safe", and what not. All I must have looked at was the movie poster.
yeah it was made by George Miller.
The devs literally said its roadwarrior with nixie tube clocks.
It ain't shakespeare
Retro-futurism is cool, and doing it half-assed like Obsidian did makes for poor results
So the devs haven't seen more than the trailer and went "Diesel punk? RAD.
>fallout 1
>complex story
>fallout
>bioshock
>now this
It's really run its course
in the same way all the 50s sci-fi movies they took elements from created the setting, sure
all that cognitive dissonance.
And to back my statement up. What analogues are there between Fallout and Mad Max 2, let alone the first? One dude on a heros journey and it's post apocalyptic. Doesn't narrow the field down. Might as well say it was a homage to a boy and his dog because you meet a dog.
Obsidian really proved that they were hacks with this game
Fallout 4 is about 100x subtler in comparison
Its not up for debate its a Mad Max 2 rip off.
Actually use your brain for something other than cooling blood. There's "rip off" and "using similar themes". Might as well call American History X a rip off of Birth of a Nation because they both feature niggers getting put in their place.
Jesus christ. You are actually going to deny its a Mad Max rip off?
>the dog
You mean the dog whose owner is described as Max?
Nope. It is a rip off. If you can't accept that you are delusional.
Sorry by story I meant world. The world building of Fallout is really complicated. The story of Fallout 1 was rather simple
>film uses 10% of 10 different films
>THIS IS A RIP OFF OF THIS ONE FILM!
I guess I shouldn't argue about films that are nearly 40 years old. It's like arguing with boomers, but in reverse. The historical reinterpretation is inane. "no, there was only this one thing and so everything stems from it"
Well it's not just Mad Max, it's also a Boy and His Dog and a host of other 1970s post apocalypse movies
>world building
Its literally ripped off Mad Max and 40k
>and 40k
You overplayed your hand bro.
>power armour
>green orks
>knightly order of power armour monks.
You going to deny this? its blatant.
1 and 2 are nowhere as good as people think it is, that's why
Tolkien on all three of your claims. Read the Silmarillion, he describes them all.
>tolkien describes power armour
Ok, fag
>I can't read.
Fairly obvious by now bro.
