Yes it is. To this day I'm actually very impressed by the combat system. There is not a lot of first person melee games and Dark Messiah managed to pull a full solo campaign with this without getting boring.
Elder Scrolls should just copy this.

When you're fighting humanoids and causing physics slapstick mayhem, yes, it's one of the bestest games ever. Sections where you're fighting monsters or doing lousy platforming on the other hand aren't exactly highlights, they can go suck a fuck if anything. Whatever, the good parts more than make up for the bad parts. Besides all that you have hammy ass voice acting, 2 (TWO) waifus, and it's one of those rare games where the evil ending isn't a fucking letdown, so what's not to like?

I recommend cheating to give yourself extra skillpoints and mana. Otherwise mage builds aren't viable, and you're generally stuck saving up skill points for basic abilities that imo should be available from the start.
If you don't cheat, then I would advise against playing on the harder difficulties because it turns into Bethesda-level shenanigans of smacking each other over and over till someone goes down.

Not always an option, and your stamina drains from doing that which is why I recommend cheating to avoid dancing around in circles while waiting for it to recharge.
