Why?
I love mine but it can't play ps1/n64/dreamcast hardly at all, it just staggers a lot. Only the games with 3D rendering though
>shill
niggers, it's freeware
I only learned about RetroArch in the last few months. I've been using emulators since probably 2002 and just hadn't bothered to update my own knowledge in several years.
It’s just a glorified front-end who cares?
I don't use retroarch for the same reason I don't use gog galaxy
>download 200mb software to emulate stuff when you can get all the needed emulators separately for 10~20mb
Retroarch is suitable for consoles, XMB frontend isn't that good on PC
Most of that 200 MB is video encoding and compiled shaders. I don't want any of that shit.
its more of a connivence thing than anything else, you arent missing out on much
if you emu ps1 games RA is a requirement. pgxp is awesome and you can oc the internal cpu
Nah it's a dude super new to emulating and thinks he's hotshit because he uses retroarch
RetroArch is shit garbage for retardos.
Zig Forums has literally braindead opinions every time somebody asks don't bother OP, they have to learn themselves
I still haven't played any other emulator that lets me navigate the entire thing from a controller, hit the home button on a snes game, close out saving a state to a cloud synced folder, and boot a Dreamcast game, get the controls autoconfigured and
play, plug in a completely different controller like a dualshock 4 and get that autoconfigured so the inputs are the same for a multiplayer game, update all my emulators with a button, and keep the same high quality CRT filter on every console I play instead of the weird mishmash choices you get between emulators.
Then boot the Snes game on my phone later and have that synced state because it's cross platform.
>he doesn't know
isnt retroarch just linux bundled with some emulators? or am I missing something?
That's all well and good, but can it suck my dick to climax?
Who are you quoting?
Can't figure out for the life of me how to fix it. it's so disappointing.
can you suck yourself to climax? never ask others what you are not willing to do yourself
now open up a ps2 game oh wait LOL
SOTN works fine except for a glitch where music in the library cuts out occasionally. It's maddening.
They know about retroarch, they just don't want to baby duck and re-learn what they know.
Retroarch has a dizzying array of cores and directories to set up and choose from, and most of the shaders are just plain out bloat, even though there's literally nothing stopping people from just making a fork with sensible defaults and a UI that hides the more obtuse settings.
Can someone help me? I downloaded the SNES rom set, but when I load up the playlist there are some games missing, like Chrono Cross, Megaman X and Lufia. How the hell am I supposed to add them to the playlist? Do I have to alter the lpl manually for every single missing game?
Because that's what I'm doing right now, and I feel really dumb
>load up the beetle hw core
>try to play xenogears with a vimm's lair bin
>doesn't work
>don't bother trying to fix it
>play tf2 all day instead
Why people need a os like thing when you can just download emulator that you need ?
I like organizing things. It's like putting everything in it's little box with a sticker labeling it.
convenience and extra features
Retroarch has bunch of features that some standalone emulators don't have
Retroarch's scanning is notoriously fickle because it hash checks for the no-intro romsets
