this is actually kind of embarassing
where are the bats? 2/10
>spend two hours hand-modeling rocks and rock patterns to replicate 5 seconds of an engine demo
But why?
The fucking state of unreal engine, can we make unity the default engine now?
Soon this video will be taken down for breaking copyright against The Paycheck of Tim Swestwood
And now zoom in on this piece of shit and compare the detail.
Fuck I hate Dreams, the most burnt i've felt by a vidya purchase in a long time.
I'm going to chill in this cave in my PSVR helmet when the beta is over. Looks comfy.
>one hobbyist in his free time vs thousands of professionals and and 8 digits dollar budget
Shhhh, don't ruin it for the easily impressionable kids in Zig Forums
You do realize that:
1. replicating is infinitely easier than creating
2. the guy isn't a hobbyist, in the comment section he says he does freelance work for game companies
3. he spent 2 hours to replicate around 5 seconds of the demo, and from one static angle
It's still impressive work but if you really think him doing that somehow shits on unreal engine then you're delusional.
What the fuck is dreams?
Why would he do it on a fucking PS4 in some shitty lowres VR?
Why wouldn't you just use a proper sculpting tool?
Why?
EPIC HIRE THIS MAN
Dreams is a PS4 game/app that lets you make video games, music and maps without any programming. You can do everything with either PS Moves or using a Dualshock 4's gyro.
The people who have gotten skilled at it like to recreate basically everything on Dreams. They are fucking wizards.
because it's autism fun?
What's fun about a shitty sculpting tool with shitty input to make something in a completely unuseable way? Make it in blender or zbrush or idk 3DS and make a proper render.

No kidding. I'm honestly surprised by what some people can do in dreams
IT'S LIKE I'M SEEING DOUBLE
sculpting is sculpting. Not everyone needs to make money off a hobby. I don't have the talent these people do but some people are pretty good at it.
Yeah you can also stick a pen up your ass and draw pictures while getting simultaneously slapped in the balls.
>If you smash your eyes against the ground the textures look a bit less detailed!
EPIC GAMES
Lego FF7R
>tfw bought dreams expecting the new LBP replacement only to drop it within 2 days
everything feels and plays like some bootleg mobile game
I miss lbp so much
I spent quite a bit of time on Dreams learning to do stuff. This shit is absolutely not trivial, you need to watch like 6 hours of tutorials before you're ready to even get started.
It took me two days to make a symmetrical fountain with no textures and I still couldn't get it like I wanted it.
Dreams + PSVR could dethrone VRChat for the most easily customizable world making tool for VR. Or it could be dead on arrival. The potential is there though.
I'd love if it supported PC tools at some point in the future. Using the move controllers hurts after a while. I made a shitty crab monster and it took me 3 hours or so and by the end of it my hands were cramping up from constantly rotating my wrists.
The point of the game is to make it work on consoles and without any programming. Putting it on PC would sort of kill the main appeal of it.
The developers would want to put it on PC though, they spent an entire generation working on it. It would be a crime to let the game die because of lack of interest.
maybe mouse and keyboard support then on playstation. It'd be cool if it was crossplay with PC and they used the same tools and engine.
>think its the full video remade
>its just 5 seconds camera movement of the cave area
Nice shilling, retard.
I don't think M+KB would feel better than using the moves. I would much rather have an IMPROVED set of Moves though, with thumbsticks and perhaps a mouse wheel. Good thing the PS Moves will inevitably get a successor alongside PSVR2.
I think the main problem of having Dreams on PC are all the possible security breaches that it would cause. You're basically giving PC owners a tool capable of making unlicensed PS4 and PS5 games.
