Japanese humor
What was the funny part?
Are you german by any chance?
Too bad I can't play it on PC.
look at what she is wearing
ok
now what?
>it's actually funny
>actually
When is it not? Every VN I've played has been at least decently funny.
Do the hokey pokey.
extremely rare
Japanese humor is honestly just cringy to me and I'm not surprised other people like OP have noticed it. I think it's just largely in the predictability and lack of subtlety
>smart/responsible character trusts slow/clumsy character to do thing, or main character enters into an awkward engagement with tsundere/rival character by coincidence
>you already know what's going to happen because every other piece of japanese media has done it
>joke happens
>"O-OH MY GOD!! DID CHARACTER-SAMA REALLY JUST??"
>(Inner monologue)"Damn... I can't believe I just did that... and to character-san of all people... I'm totally dead!"
>"Rrrrrrrggghhh... CHARACTER-SAMA YOU IDIOT! HOW CAN YOU DO THIS! I AM NOW DRAWN WITH LESS DETAIL AND AM BIG AND ANGRY"
> o_O"
>the joke makes no attempt to reference or make use of any character's personality or more probable responses because they're all just blank slates that are only separated from background characters by their vague stereotypes
I used to think it was weird my dad never watched Seinfeld or Curb Your Enthusiam because it was "Jewish Humor" but honestly I can understand it now
Are ya winning, son?
It’s funny though because cute loli haha
Am I noticing the recent DT2 threads because I just started playing it or there are suddenly more of them?
>japanese culture
>its always cringe
shoulda nuked tokyo
basically the only humor the japs do correctly is slapstick
YOU STUPID FUCKS BETTER TRANSLATE 2-2!
FUCK!
fuck you
Japanese comedy is based
youtube.com
no one else would have made a skit like this
It got fire bombed you dumb mutt.
Burning alive thousands of of civilians.
Basically this. Anyform of wordplay or contextual comedy usually falls flat in the Japanese language. They don't even understand sarcasm
However, they do very well with pure physical humor
>Wordplay doesn't work outside of native language
Real shocking revelation there
It is intended for the viewer to derive humor from the incongruity between the speaker's words and their actions.
forgot to mention it's way funnier because the follow-ups build up on the foundation

Go back to being dead, dad.
>Anyform of wordplay or contextual comedy usually falls flat in the Japanese language.
bullshit fuck off idiot
That's a funny video but it's not very different from a Monty Python or SNL skit(The good SNL skits). I wouldn't call that definitive of Japanese humor
in english, doc.
>well that one doesn't count
Hah, first thing I thought of too.
RoF was way too fun as a fantasy mercenary slice of life piece.
