DA:O sucks, DA:II is good, DA:I is the best!
>being a teen
DA:O sucks, DA:II is bad, DA:I is the best.
>growing up
DA:O is the best, DA:II is a underwhelming yet still fun sequel, DA:I is a degenerate piece that should be burned.

Because it followed Origins which was a phenomenal game. If 2 was the first game in an entry it would have been a forgotten 6/10 game. It's heavily flawed but I think the things it does well, it does very well and I would say the level of hate for the game is way overkill. Inquisition is a substantially worse game and experience in my eyes, despite the fact that it "restored character creation choices and has a lot more to explore than either 1 or 2. I beat origins at least 10 times and the second game 3 times, I had to force myself to beat inquisition and never touched the game again.

How far are you? I had to set the difficulty to easy to fight off not the hardness but the tedium. And turn off my brain just so I could finish it making me forget completely what happened in the last half.

:^)

I maintain that 2 is excellent on Nightmare. Working your way through the encounters requires strategy and a lot of quick thinking. Nightmare in Origins was fun, but it was mostly Manabombing and AoEing everything to hell and working around the few things you couldn't completely destroy this way.
It fucking sucks they never released an easy to get complete edition though, because the game lacks map variety without the DLCs. You HAVE to pirate.

the combat is actually fun in this game instead of the borefest in origins, i found walking too slow though so i used a mod to double your speed

One thing i didnt get about this game is why everyone was bitching about having a set protagonist, you actually have a background and a family that you interact with through the entire game instead of in origins where youre just some blank slate that gets barely any interaction with your background after you finish the intro

Because its actually garbage, the same dungeon asset reused over and over, the ho look enemies are popping out of nowhere over and over.

because nobody cares enough to meme you about having the shittiest taste.

The fun goes away once you realize the entire game is just the same 5 layouts over and over and over again. Fucking Oblivion has less dungeon copypasting than DA2.

Limited assets - there is only one cave
Few plot decisions - for example, inability to refuse escort of qunari mage, Anders, first enchanter being an idiot

Despite being an rpg, what I hate is the fact that your choices simply do not matter aside from saving the lives of 2 party members (and in the case of your brother/sister all you have to do is not bring them along). No matter who you side with in the Mage/Templar conflict, you have to fight the leaders of both in the same order anyway. That being said I'm fine with Hawke being a predetemined character because there's 2 ways to do an RPG
>blank slate, everything is determined by you
>the Witcher kind, aka you are Geralt of Rivia and instead of playing based on what you would do, you're supposed to play and think abot what would Geralt do in this situation
Hawke is the latter and that works because he has a defined enough character.

The party members in 2 are...fine, but aside from Varric they're all a step down from the ones you got in Origins and Anders acts nothing like he did in Awakening. The game also has a wierd message near the ending that you could almost interpret as pro-terrorism as a party member gets everything he wants through committing a mass murder terrorist act and all the negative connotations exist to serve his goals.

Because it didn't have le meme strategic Baldur's gate combat which is objectively trash anyway

You forgot the final one
>old age
DA:O is the best, DA2 has good ideas but terrible execution, and DA:I feels like it was made by 2 groups that while they were both talented, were in constant conflict with each other on what kind of game they wanted it to be.

I genuinely fucking hated it.
It was the last game I preordered and since then I am incredibly wary about ever buying games.

I appreciate that warriors and rogues are actually worth playing now unlike in the first game, but that's undercut by the shitty "just keep spawning in enemies just outside of your view" game design.

It's pretty fun, but the second half of the game is rushed as fuck and it really shows.

i never got this meme how does anyone find pausing every 2 seconds to micro every single ability on all of your party members fun?

Hallway simulator is a big part of it. the reuse the same hallway like 20 times.

warriors and rogues get the best companion while mages get the worst one in this though

For me it was more
>Act 1 is fleshed out but it's boring as fuck and is filled with a shitton of tedious quests
>Act 2 genuinely has some interesting plot points and has far less tedious quests, but it's also the section that pisses a lot of players off because of one very specific plot point
>Act 3 is rushed as hell, ends so quickly it feels like it didn't even have time to really start, and is overall unsatisfying in as a conclusion

What does not surprise me is how many corners had to be cut when this game was given only 14 months to be made and they used almost none of the original game's assets. What does surprise me is how few bugs the game shipped with despite that.

Carver is not the worst, I'd probably give that to Merill. Carver's sin is he's nowhere near as fun to be around as Bethany.

It only has like 5 locations that get recycled over and over again, basically ALL game mechanics from Origins were dumbed down or straight up removed and over half the party members in the game are totally irrelevant.
To be fair, a lot of characters in Origins were irrelevant as well - but the 2nd game cranks it up to 11.

oh your like that developer who's like "SOMETHING AWESOME MUST HAPPEN EVERY 5 SECONDS"

I loved Anders in Awakening, he's a fun guy. DA2 just makes me want him dead. And the worst part is Inquisition says that regardless of which side you backed in Act 3 of DA2, Hawke never picked the option to stab Anders in the back with the knife and kill him, he's still out there.

Anders is great other then the fact he's a completely different character then 1 , Anders was someone who spent his whole life running and the idea he just decided to change that 1 day is retarded
he's a monster but thats the point

>merril
>worst

shes one of the top tier companions what the fuck are you talking about

Im convinced it's not even him anymore and he's just been consumed by Justice who is hiding it.

>Your only healer is an Antifa terrorist who constantly gives you rivalry points for not being gay with him

What did they mean by this?

She's completely one-note, her entire schtick is "I'm naieve about the world!"
