They do for the English voices at least.

Pretty sure it's because Eng dubbers aren't used to it so they came out more awkward

I remember back with Kingdom Hearts 1 it really looked like the mouths matched the words they were saying. Of course nowadays it makes sense to redo the animations since they like to reveal their big games to America first.

They probably started redoing the animation around that time actually. If I remember correctly, FFX didn't do it, but X-2 did.

I think MGS did it only with 4. I remember a bunch of 2 and 3's lines not matching the voices.

MGS2 and 3 didn't even try to have lip sync in any language. The characters open their mouth once for a whole 10 word sentence, if even that much.

AC is bad but the idea that Cloud was eternally emo because of it is wrong and requires you to ignore half the goddamn flick.
Cloud is emo in:
-like half of Crisis Core, because he comes back to Nibelheim a failure and then watches it burn down and his mother die and his hot neighbor get seriously wounded making him a double failure
-half of Case of Tifa because Elmyra's request to deliver a bouquet to the Forgotten City triggers his PTSD/guilt and he gets space aids and he finds a kid who also has space aids
-half of Advent Children because of those things I just said plus Sephiroth is fucking with his head again. The movie is about him considering his decision to lay down and die, thinking better of it after Tifa, Marlene, and Vincent tell him he's a dummy, and overcoming these issues.
Now I know what you're thinking. That's basically the end of the Compilation. But it isn't. We see him again in Dirge of Cerberus and The Kids Are Alright, which are both after AC (Kids is before/during /after, but the point is we see him after the events of AC) and he isn't emo in those. Because AC is about him getting over it. In conclusion, fuck you.
