I find this sort of thing honestly unacceptable. It truly baffles my mind that they even feel the smallest desire to change the designs to cover them up for no real reason. Nothing about the above is offensive nor does it stand out among the many musclehead half naked men the game has (Lee Sin and Sylas just to name a few). In a fantasy setting especially there is nothing out of the ordinary about it, and yet they still change it.

In fact Riot seems to not have any real understanding what they want to do with Miss Fortune. The whole point of the character is to be a playful pulpy femme fatale that obviously shows off her sexiness. It contrasted well with the bleak lore they later gave her, but they keep pushing her to be this generic strong female. Having Laura Bailey take over for her voice only made her even more generic and boring.

The Janna change is actually horrible though. The scantily clad elf look is a pretty standard way to portray the idea that a character is one with nature and her old design showed that off nicely. Even if you disagree, who the fuck cares about some hidden meaning behind stuff. The fact of the matter is that they are going out of their way to change designs that didn't need to be changed. They aren't offending any actually intelligent person.

Eh this summed it up nicely. I love Miss Fortune and her classic outfit fits her original personality and design perfectly. Covering her up and trying to make her more serious is just betraying the identity of the character, but Riot has been pushing her to be this strong female lead for awhile now. It's really a shame. Riot either makes Disney tier silliness or everything is dead serious now. They lost a lot of the fun and humor their original designs and writing had, all for the pursuit of lore that isn't even remotely original or interesting

I've also seen a thread of this on reddit, a Riot staff member confirmed that this is the direction they want to take their designs to and that the old designs of the females were "too unrealistic" (Like fucking Janna as a wind goddess not having realistic clothing kind of unrealistic)

If you think the second or third outfit qualify as a bikini then you are retarded. I love how anytime a female character has skin showing it is always heavily exaggerated to be purely swimsuit fanservice, and realism is always applied to it even in a fantasy setting. I also love how whoever redesigned Shyvana's outfit must have forgotten that showing off her inhuman scale skin was part of the point of having it revealed in the first place.
