i know

AD > Quake I

Are you playing to "challenge" or to have fun? Look around different genres. Don't go for the hard-difficulty automatically just because of some self-imposed fucked up sense of duty.

Try Painkiller

Arcane dimensions feels like what iD always envisioned Quake to be but couldn't make due to technical limitations. It really makes me want a modern lovecraftian Quake campaign, just imagine how fucking crazy and awesome it would be.

Is there any way to play AD with 1.5 weapons?

I tried both. Last thing that I truly enjoyed was making maps for Quake but now I can't even open the map editor.
It's not vidya, it's me.

If Bethesda had an ounce of brain they would've hired the AD team and paid them to make an official expansion to Quake. Unfortunately I don't think they're even aware of AD's existence. Oh well, here' to hope Wrath:AoR is going to be even remotely fun.

>here's to hope Wrath:AoR is going to be even remotely fun.
That save system though

I haven't played the game, but reading about it I kinda dig it. Never was a fun of savescumming.

Maybe try playing something from this fucking century, user.

>That save system though
Filtered

correct

I dont know what game that is but the graphics and art style make me want to kill myself

they make me want to play it

Its because you've finally grown out of it, OP. If you want any games to play, put on HOI or EU, Cataclysm DDA, things like that are the only ones that I can play anymore. They satisfy the inert need to conquer something, at least somewhat.

What's wrong, do you quick save every 10sec or something? It's fine, stop sucking.

>Maybe try playing something from this fucking century, user.

Maybe you should try playing quake. What do you have to lose? Realize that you never played a good fps?

I'm basically waiting to die.
There's one thing I want, but it isn't possible in this world, and I know it wouldn't fix me even if it was.
I'm broken on some fundamental level, and can no longer muster the will to try to fix myself.

>I dont know what game that is but the graphics and art style make me want to kill myself

2020 Zig Forums yall

above poster thinks witcher 3 is phenomenal

>do you quick save every 10sec or something?
No, but I just like being in control and knowing that if I want to save at any time, I can.

Then keep one soul tether one you at all times in case you need to save and quit. There's more than enough of them in any given level and there's those save shrines, usually 2-3 per level.

Play multiplayer games and make some friends. Or if you already happen to have friends, play games with them. I'm in the same boat, I have barely any drive to play singleplayer games anymore.

play better games

Okay... I kind of agree with you but could you explain why you feel that way exactly ? you know so we can discuss, establish a dialogue !

Is there any way to modify weapon/enemy damage in AD? I like making everyone glass cannons in 1.5 since you could tweak stuff in config files.

If vidya is how you escape from the rest of your life, you're ruining both.

Why both ? Video games has been a really cool way to escape for a very long time as long as the devs behind them wanted to create cool and fun games to entertain themselves and other gamers.
Of course now that video games are full of muh realism, no fun allowed, shit gameplay loops and everything is about being a carrot on a stick to keep you in the wonderful loop of micro transactions and loot boxes....

hah same thing

Take a break and find a new hobby like reading, photography, woodworking or fixing old electronics for example. It'll take your mind off gaming and you'll learn new skills.

>look at game library
>nothing looks interesting to play anymore
>browse digital store
>find something on sale
>hmm that looks interesting
>watch video of someone playing it and having a good time
>buy it
>gets added to my library
>now looks just as uninteresting as everything else in my library

if they released source

That's unfortunate, one of the problems I've always had with Quake is that enemies have a little bit too much health. Why put really fun movement in the game when you sometimes have to stop to wait for an enemy to eat up several shots before you can bunnyhop to the next room?
