Why not if sony are paying for development and using their own studios KONAMi just probably have to chip in a little and sony pay for the majority and KONAMi gets profits for very low effort

Yeah, but there's also a chance they signed a Maximum Judaism deal with Sony in which Konami won't pay a dime for the development and marketing, Sony will do all the hard work, and Konami will just count 50% royalities or something like that. It's possible me thinks.

Konami's original plan was two games. One was a reboot, the other was this experimental VR side title. They started talking to devs in 2017. The VR title was originally going to be done by a studio in the UK, but Brexit fucked up negotiations. The VR title is what they were discussing with Kojima back in 2019. But that deal fell through. So now they have the reboot title being developed by SCE Japan who made a successful pitch, and the status of the side game is unknown.
