If something like this ran a barebone version of Windows it would be goat

Companies can try to emulate the Switch all they want, but at the end of the day it won't have Pokémon, Mario Kart or Animal Crossing. If it's just a portable Xbone then it may eat up a portion of Playstation sales, but it won't touch the Switch.

1080p undocked is a meme, there is no need to have a higher thatn 720p resolution on such a small screens.

There is diminishing returns for display sizes, 8k, 4k, 1080p viewed at 7 feet from a 65 inch screen is visually indistinguishable from each other, a 6 inch screen with 720p is 260 pixels per inch, if you held the screen to your eyes and tried to discern 1080p, 1440p, you would struggle to tell the difference between either of them

720p is HD, it looks sharp and nice on smaller screens
1080p is 2 times more taxing (2x the pixel count), there's absolutely no point in it

Maybe, but it's only a matter of time before Nintendo releases another console of their own that can manage that. If MS or Sony tried selling a more powerful Switch clone it'd have around two years of moderate success (in Japan) before it sinks when Nintendo moves ahead with a Switch Pro/ Switch 2.

Wrong. Nothing has been disproven. Rumours of an MS/SEGA partnership of some kind go back over a year. Most likely we've just getting a gay-ass Panzer Dragoon or whatever you call it game exclusive on Xbox. Nobody cares about SEGA's games.

It can, it just depends on the games.
Saying something like "it can handle X resolution in games" is very vague and meaningless
The Xbox One X can handle games at 4K, but it doesn't mean that it will run every single current game at 4K, much less future, more advanced ones

It would if the games run on a lower internal resolution
If a game can only run at 720p undocked and you put that game running on a 1080p display, it will look like a blurry mess - whereas it will look perfectly fine on a 720p display
The lower the resolution, the less taxing said resolution is on the hardware, and therefore there's a higher chance of games being able to run at the target resolution
anyway, lower internal res=bad
A game like Wolfenstein II looks blurry because it runs at a lower internal res. It would look sharp if it ran at 720p on the small screen, but the Switch is not powerful enough for such a feat on that specific game
