I dream of Kevin

Clickbait youtube videos don't make for a very reliable source of information

Exactly when Cuphead came out, especially everyone getting filtered by matchstick

The backlash for Fallout 76 was far more then just a few clickbait youtube videos. It pretty standard for a Bethesda release considering even games like 4 that critics received positively hated it.

>KBM users on Zig Forums complaining about controller users on PC Halo
>Isshin from sekiro, meanwhile DSP beat him in 5 tries
It's always funny to see Zig Forums filtered.

Recently a friend started Hollow knight.
Reached the first boss (false knight or whatever) then dropped it, claiming the game is slow, the exploration bad and non-intuitive and the map system annoying.

I don't udnerstand how people can judge games fully and claim "bad design" without seeing mroe than 10% of it.

But that is not a flaw in design. You can't have the enjoyement of feeling powerful if you're like that from the get go, it will feel cheap and get boring fast.
You can't demand the highs without the lows.

>be you
>have an unfulfilling life
>"at least im gud at game"
>develop a superiority complex
>google "game is too hard"
>laugh at all the people struggling
>heh
What a Chad

t. "____ too hard" guy

The idea that people who are good at video games have to be losers in real life is just something low IQ people have to tell themselves because they HAVE to believe the world balances people out in some way or else they couldn't avoid the conclusion that they're just not very good. They also do this by claiming everyone more muscular than them is dumb, or everyone richer than them has problems at home. It's just the thought process that happens when you don't have any humility but have dozens of traits deserving of it.

If there weren't plenty of other better-paced metroidvanias out there I'd be more inclined to agree with you.

How do people like this get through life?

Hollow Knight's slow movement is balanced around the charm system and bosses. Moving faster gives you a big advantage in fights and you need charms for things like sprintmaster or the dash buffs. I do think they needed some more movement options for the overworld or some closer fast travel points but they need to somehow not be usable in combat.
The main reason the beginning feels slow I don't even think is due to movement anyways, but the fact that the enemies are way too easy early on. The game doesn't actually provide a challenge until Mantis Lords and the fireball spell is OP. If they kept the slow movement but had challenging enemies from the start it would be fine, it would basically feel like classic castlevania.

Don't pretend OP's behaviour is of a well adjusted person.

>play JRPG
>it has a bunch of stats and different systems to it
>try to figure out what's good, come up with something that seems neat
>go online to see what people are saying about the game
>"this game's combat is so easy to cheese, who would have thought [STAT I COMPLETELY IGNORED] was so broken"
>read a build guide
>all the skills and stats I chose to prioritise because they sounded good are garbage
I wish I wasn't so fucking dumb. I can't even say "at least I'm good at action games" because I'm not good at those either. The only way I can feel good while playing games is to never compare myself to others.

Reading through negative Hollow Knight reviews is infuriating. Most of them can be boiled down to "GAME TOO HARD (0.2 hours played)"

That's assuming HK goal as a game is the same of the other.
Which isn't, and I think too many forget that, the game doesn't try nor needs to be like every other MV

By playing Xbox I guess

>find soft locks and exploits in game
>”damn this game is too easy”
>look up stuff about game
>no ones doing them

>look up thing and everyone talking about how easy it is
>later find out that everyone is playing on a different version where the thing is much easier
