i don't care

It wasn't the DS just like the Sega Game Gear wasn't a Gameboy

It was a good system to play certain multiplats and some ports of PS2/PS3 games. The vanillaware titles in particular are pretty outstanding

The only people that hated it were Sony.

It's a piece of shit flop for dumb weebs. A no-games system in a games-based handheld economy.

it deserved every ounce of the hate it got

figure it out

Still love using it for PS1 games, Legend of Mana's combat flows like a breeze on the Vita's dpad
It's not like the 3DS did much better in the games department

Excuse me but I have to own one and my own determination is it's painfully mediocre.

> Proprietary memory cards
Oh, yes it did. The last non-Sony console to do that was what... the Gamecube in 2001? What made Sony think it was acceptable a decade later?

It was a genuinely fantastic system but sadly it didn’t really have enough great exclusives. Pretty much everything in the vita you can play on other systems. Even the exclusives it did have got ported to PS4 a few years later.

What is it with smooth brains and exclusives? Why do you think they're a good thing?

Nah, but it wasn't exactly good either. Sword City and Dungeon Travelers 2 are cool.

>memory cards
I’ll just wait until it can be emulated

This.

>hand cramp machine
>proprietary memory cards
>no games
>shitty build quality

Why?

>$100 memory cards
>no games
I still bought and enjoyed mine but it deserved the hate

They’re not, but why should one buy one if there aren’t any games they’re interested in?

didn't really deserve the attention it got too honestly

And Zig Forums.

I got is for Persona 4 when it came out and also played Digimon Cyber Sluts on it. Then got a few unremarkable, yet still fun games like Fate/extella, Freedom Wars and ports of FFX and Metal Gear 2&3 before it sat on a drawer for years. Just decided to pick it back up. Now I'm playing Odin Sphere, Dungeon Travelers 2, Symphony of The Night and I'm planning to get FF tactics.

I'm having fun, bros. I made it.

>hand cramps
Yeah, this
Shit sucks to play for over 15 minutes its worse than the ds

That's not reflected by the low sales numbers

You can just put Micro SD cards in it.

The Xbox one didn't deserve all the hate it got. The original one did sure but the one S and one x are great consoles. Plus all that Draconian no used games always online bullshit never made it to consumer hands it was patched out day one

>Releasing a handheld console with no games when Android gaming was on the rise
Yea I wonder why

Sony was going to do the exact same thing if not worse, they have patents on having to pay a license to re enable used games. They got off the hook by not announcing things first so they could backpeddle.

I'm surprised at least 5 VNs I'm interested in actually have Vita ports. Pretty neato.

But it deserved most of it.

Link to proof?

I'm making a video essay and this would help

The PSP also used proprietary memory cards, retard.
It still has games like Soul Sacrifice Delta that remain exclusive. I think looking at the Vita only for exclusivity is doing it a disservice, though. It's mostly about the high quality hardware and perfect ergonomics, and the fact a handheld finally achieved that. You get three different libraries that play better than in their original hardware, in one handheld, without even having to resort to homebrew. That's magical.
>hand cramp machine
Maybe stop being a limpwristed faggot with baby hands. I've used my Vita for hours on end and never gotten a hand cramp, like I do on GBASPs or all types of DSs.
>shitty build quality
Why would you do that? Go on the internet just to tell lies?
How are you even holding your Vita? I'm 6"2 and this thing is the only handheld that actually comfortably fits my hands and doesn't feel like it'll snap in two from just playing it.

No one hated it. Nobody bought it because of the fucking expensive memory. I love my vita and it is a based handheld.

It did, a shitty dead platform for putting low budget weebshit on. Extremely sad getting this shit after a fucking psp which stood extremely well against a behemoth of a portable ds was. Also worst interface like ever, whoever approved those shitty bubbles needs to get shot.

1. The DS4 is designed with their PS Eye in mind, it was going to be forced on you just like the Kinect, that's why the built in game in the PS4 uses it and you can't turn the light bar off.
2. The patent was filed during the engineering cycle of the PS4 and became public just ahead of the PS4 reveal. gamerant.com/sony-patent-block-used-games/
3. They immediately noticed the backlash and went full defence force by recording an on set ad where they just hand a game to a different guy.

Unrelated: although Microsoft's plan was overreaching, they were aiming for a Steam like experience where you could link a disc to your account, making it possible to download and install the games you have on disc on other Xbox consoles, like when you're over at a friends house.

I have extreme stick drift on my vita after only about 500 hours total across all games. That's worse than the shitty ds4. That's worse than fucking Nintendo

>I'm 6'2
You must have done serious baby hands as I'm only 6'1 and it feels like absolute shit to hold for over 20 minutes

>Buying this when you can just game on your android phone with gamepad attached
Lmao

>the autistic vita defense force showed up
Unironically the most pathetic subgroup of "people" on the internet. Even make normal snoys look good by comparison

>Microsoft's plan was overreaching
I'm still dumbfounded at how the Xbox team handled that E3 fiasco. Everything points to a digital future but my God what a huge mess the reveal was/

you can buy SD card converters for it now and they are dirt cheap. i got mine for like $5.
and the price for micro sd cards are almost always on sale.

I'm feeling up for a dungeon crawler. How's pic related?

I generally enjoy SMT and all Etrian Odyssey games. Vita-wise, I already played the following:

>Mind:Zero
Worst dungeon crawler I ever played
>Demon Gaze
Fun
>Demon Gaze 2
couldn't get into it as much for some reason
>Mary Skelter
Fun but the dungeon design can go eat a dick

Best dungeon crawler on the system

Exclusives are a necessary evil if we want good games. Most multiplatform AAA games are full of awful microtransactions and other monetisation techniques because they are created to make as much profit as possible. However hardly any of Nintendo or Sonys games do this because their purpose is simply to be a great game in order to entice people into buying the console. You can argue about whether they were successful or not but thats their purpose. It’s not like consoles are holding these games hostage and they would be on PC if consoles otherwise. These games literally wouldn’t even exist without consoles because the only reason they were created was to sell them.

weeb dungeon crawlers are all shit

That, its sequel and Sword City's remake are the best three dungeon crawlers for the Vita (unless you count Elminage Gothic on PSP)

Wellp, installing. Thanks anons.

I only just got to chapter 4 and I'm not that experienced with dungeon crawlers, but it's fun so far.
For anyone that has played it, PLEASE convince me NOT to buy the DLC for the double exp item. I don't give a damn about the bonus characters, but that item is tempting.
