Cnc would have been great if they'd focussed more on fixing the broken Ai and other outdated stuff rather than just the graphics and some remastered music.
Sure, I get that they wanted to keep it old scgool, and that's fine to a degree, but having harvesters just fuck off to anywhere, or having units scatter and walk for miles because a bridge was momentarily blocked is the kinda shit that is more important to fix than the graphics ever were.
It's annoying because really, the graphics were never the problem, and even the pixellated art looks fine on modern displays with patches etc.
It's the woeful Ai and lack of qol stuff that kills the game.
I'd have preferred options for things like rally points, aoe style fog, attack moving and order queues too.
Like, they modernised the build menu and gave options for right click commands and unit build queues, yet not other stuff? Why. If the argument is that they wanted the pure Cnc experience, why change the things they did?
It's a weird, half assed gameplay experience with modernised visuals and music. Which I reckon will severely limit its lasting appeal.

We need a channel or something to actually do nonbiased objective reviews of game performance and shit. Digital Retard fuck up every single video they do lately with awful bias and glossing over issues of games. It's laughable those dumbasses actually look at something like Monster Hunter in base PS4 running at 25fps and act like it's impressive somehow.
Never mind I figured it out, you have to use one of the units you start with instead of a soldier that gets produced when selling a captured building
But it has to be an infantry unit. Vehicles can't board the copter, so you're fucked if none of the grunts survive the base.

That would be a remake, not a remaster, and it would cost a lot more than 20 dollars.
I'm sad that in the remaster when infantry die their bodies disappear right away. In the original they would degrade a little bit before disappearing. Hopefully they will patch this.
You can complete the mission with a TANK. You don't need to load anything into the chopper; just be near it.

If I'm in the position to take out the comm center I've already won the mission anyway and the GDI base is falling. It's the same story as getting air strikes just as you are about to finish a mission because the effort it takes to take out the SAMs is the same effort required to win anyway. It's one of the design flaws of TD.
I think in TS or RA2 they might linger a TINY bit and rapidly turn into a skeleton before disappearing.

Another tip for everyone struggling with economy:
Whenever you have downtime consider micro-managing your harvester. Not all Tiberium is equal; the squares with bigger crystals are mature and thus worth more; filling up your harvester faster. So consider directing your harvester to pick up mature squares of Tiberium which will let it fill up in only two or three squares. This is faster and it has the benefit of letting other patches of Tiberium mature faster, which means more money for you while also ensuring patches last a bit longer.

The difficulty is all over the place with the Hard mode. GDI 5 is fucking ridiculous on hard (especially the Ukraine East version of it), but the final Nod mission was a breeze for me. I even beat it without using the nuke, and barely used any reloaded saves.
Do Sandbags actually do anything? I used to place them in front of infantry/rockets to give them cover as makeshift base defenses but I'm not actually sure what it does besides block non explosive infantry
What's going on with your money?
They restrict movement and the AI isn't smart enough to destroy them. I recall tanks being able to drive over sandbags, but I might be wrong or that might be a feature from a later game.

The AI NEVER attacks walls unless you put turrets next to them, take a guess on how useful they can be
And you can also build other buildings next to walls

There’s a balance patch dropping soon according to Bryan. They wanted to keep it as close to the original on release as they could, but due to the feedback they are gonna tweak some outdated things.

I'd like a mod where the GDI map theme is used for both factions, except for the final briefing for each one, where the map zooms in and magnifies the country you are about to attack.
For you vs the AI? It's just a more durable barrier. A tactic is to put it in front of advanced guard towers or obelisks since they can shoot over it but tanks cant.
In TS? To stop the digging APC.

Vehicles can run over sandbags, they can't run over concrete. Also concrete blocks a lot of shots, so you can put base defenses right behind it.
