Mona gets shit on way too much for his antics at a point in the game where Ryuji is far and away more insufferable with his wet dreams of being a celebrity. I think most people were bothered by having to spend a few days chasing him because they were falling behind on Confidants. Royal also makes him more tolerable because he doesn't tell you to go to sleep anymore

Imagine every evil, horrid thing Tom wanted to do to Jerry. Every horrible possible way he imagined that rats worthless body being torn apart by gun, traps, and everything in between.
Now hook them up in some sort of Rube Goldberg machine and put this cat at the start then send him through.
I would watch at every stop, seeing the multitude of ways his body gets torn apart, not even blinking or feeling an ounce of remorse.
If there's anything left of his body once the machine is done put it back in and send it through again until there is nothing left.
Only then can I feel the satisfaction of this cat no longer existing on this mortal plane.

Morgana is a grade-A example of why seemingly meaningless fluff that acknowledges character agency is more important than people want to admit. If Morgana was just there to give optional advice, and it was the player character who thinks "I'm too tired, I should go to bed," then nobody would have a problem with him outside of the build to Okumura's palace. But because you had another character telling you you're tired, it feels like the game is taking agency away from you, even though the two situations would be mechanically identical. Same with every other instance where Morgana says "You should do this" when in P3 or P4 it would be the player character thinking to themselves "I should do this" or the game telling the player "You decided to do this."
