God I fucking hate starcraft 2. Starcraft had some problems too, I get it. But starcraft 2 was built from the ground up to be boring esports trash with the forced "MUH MICRO" shit like larva injecting and creep spreading. Tell me why the fuck I should have to click on all my buildings every 40 seconds on the dot to not fall behind on production right now. I don't care if zerg is strong or whatever, I don't give a shit about the balance, I just want it to be fun to play and it's a chore, it's just a chore.

Have you even played brood war? It's 10x worse in that game. Every single production structure has to be clicked every single cycle, because there aren't enough control groups.

It's safer to drop behind the lines for the reaver. It's all about cost/benefit. The reaver is much more likely to survive, but it's much less likely to do damage. Just move my SCVs and then that's it.

Speaking of which, are there any pro matches where Mind Control is actually used?

Starcraft 2 is pretty good now. Its nothing like the f2 deathball of WoL. There's ton of drops, mineral line harrassment, prong attacks, micro, etc

Not only that but the style of the game is completely different. I don't just mean art style either but the emphasis on what makes each race speciall.

Zerg is the biggest one. Their whole thing is mutation. You learn that early on with larva turning in to drones and drones in to buildings. However the next thing that gives Zerg, and SC just a WOW factor is that you even have to mutate the buildings. If you want a sunken colony you need to mutate a creep colony first. That's really cool! Then in order to get new units you have to, again, mutate the hachatry. Then the coolest unit in the game, the Mutalisk. It can mutate in to in TWO different bigger and badder air units, but you have to choose one! Then around this time you also get Lukers which need to mutate from Hydras. This shit is seriously fucking wack.

The idea that the Zerg are constantly morphing, mutating and evolving is so wonderfully showen and intergrated in the Zerg's play style. Every bit of the Zerg has a big thing about how things have to change literally.

SC2 though? It pretty much doesn't exsist. You no longer need a creep colony for defenses. Mutalists only change in to one other ait unit. Banglings are ok but since they are literal time bombs they don't really feel like an upgrade. And by the time they added in Lurkers it was to late and the Roach mutation doesn't really feel like a mutation since it's pretty much the same thing.

Another thing too that I really thought was clever was how the Protoss required "ammo" for the Reaver and the Carrier. This I thought was really uniqe cause it also put emphasis that the Protoss are so advance that they can actually produce things while on the go instead of having it need to be in a static building. Plus it's just a really cool mechanic in general that Protoss have this little extra step in order to attack and if you kept an eye on those 2 units and kept up their ammo production you could cause some massive damage.
