Far Cry 5s moment to moment gameplay is probably the closest we've got to a playable action film. Are there any other games with that level of all around chaos when things go hype?

Uncharted Lost Legacy.

MW2 is literally action movie: the game

It doesn't have the organic anything-can-fucking-happen-anytimeness of Far Cry though.

far cry 5 was so fuckin fun, any news of 6?

Is it that much different than 4?

Most of the game is this nonlinear junglequest thing where you drive to various outposts in any order you like similar to Far Cry 2. This part of the game has very little scripted setpieces so the action is pretty natural.

Red Faction Guerilla

Good game but the shooting mechanics are very weak and knocking down buildings feels like blowing lego apart. Every building has the same size prefabricated pieces.

Just this

MHW.

still has the best destruction I've seen in a game. No other game simulates the stress on the whole structure. Even this new indi game Teardown doesn't come close.

>exact same image as OP
>"guize im so hype for fc6"
Very subtle

He asked a question and I grabbed the first image from Google, conspiracy autist

>acquire attack chopper
>hover over enemy base and mow down everyone with zero resistance
>repeat for the entire game except for the bunkers
FC5 sucked ass

I agree with you there, it'd be nice to see a game with those destruction physics but with more believable structure damage..

>not taking on the whole game with a handgun and explosives for dealing with vehicles
Why would you play it in the most boring manner possible then complain it's boring?

Far Cry 6 is going to be revealed in July at Ubisoft's event. Scheduled for early 2021. Takes place outside America.

How exactly is total gameplay freedom a bad thing?

Yeah, they should just make a new Red Faction. I mean it had this kind of destruction on 11yo hardware. Now they could do sooo much more...

So we've had tropical island, African savannah, mountain range and rural America. What else could they do? Deep jungle maybe? Arctic tundra? Can't imagine they'll go urban with it.

Guerilla was 100% the outlier in the series so it seems more likely they'd just make a new IP.

Jup, I don't really care what IP they use or create. I hope just for a return of the Geo-Mod engine for todays hardware^^

siberian taiga would be pretty kino

The existence of a game called Red Faction Evolution leaked a while back. But then THQN and Deep Silver swapped the IP between them. I don't know who is developing the new RF, but moving it over to Deep Silver implies it's getting a bigger budget.

>the closest we've got to Redneck Rampage 2

fixed

game can be pretty fun, especially co-op, but the constant "oh no you hit the points threshold now the cult is after you, time for a cutscene/story mission out of nowhere" shit is tedious as fuck

I too would love to see destructible environments. The industry just doesn't really give a shit about physics anymore.
20 years ago if you'd asked me what I thought games would be like today I would have said that every game would have fully destructible buildings and objects and we'd have to have separate gpu's just to handle the physics the same way gpu's enhanced 3d gaming to begin with. I would have been so disappointed.

Unironically, Far Cry 2

>Far Cry 5s moment to moment gameplay is probably the closest we've got to a playable action film.
You're damn right it is. The player is locked into a literal movie script, and even your open world exploration can simply be interrupted by unavoidable story segments.

Post-apocalyptic wasteland. All Far Cry games take place in chronological order in the same universe and FC5 ended with a civil unrest bio-warfare global nuclear apocalypse. There can logically be no more Far Cry games that take place in anything other than nuclear wasteland because Ubisoft are retards. There were enough plot holes in FC5 to explain Seed's ravings as his own manufactured self-fulfilling prophecy and that the entire apocalypse was a scam, but New Dawn canonized the actual end of the world instead. The only way Far Cry can move forward is to retcon the worst game in the series out of existence i.e. forget that FC5 ever happened.

or just retcon new dawn and have 5's ending be a bliss induced nightmare

Yeah I saw that with RF Evolution, I hope it's really still in the works. I have high hopes ^^

How are these games popular ? 3-4-5 are pretty much the same games except a few details and the story :

guns are the same, progressions is the same, open world formula is the same, why are people still excited about nuFC ?

I never knew Montana was full of niggers

One of my all-time favorite video game moments came in Far Cry 4 where I was tiger hunting atop an elephant when a random convoy appeared nearby. I go bursting out of the jungle and knock over one of the convoy vehicles with my elephant then destroy another with and rpg. The last vehicle started pulling away so I make chase and as I start to get close a fucking rhino blast it over the side of a cliff from out of nowhere.

It looks pretty and has a bunch of shit to do on a big map. Some people don't need more than this.
