Dark Souls combat boils down to nothing more than a few basic combos with blocking and dodging, yet people tend to agree it's one of the greatest games of all time and they would be correct. Its more than the sum of its parts when you put it all together. In terms of dialogue and atmosphere that's all subjective and while I thought TLOU1 was okayish, I'm not going to pretend I can't see why people love it.

Normal fags don't actually like games. They want to watch a movie and then say to their friends after "haha yeah I'm a hardcore gamer haha". Then they're surprised when their gf enjoys the 'game' as well, just from watching him play it because, surprise surprise, you enjoy it through it being a movie and not through its gameplay.

Story is very generic. Gameplay is mediocre at best. Most of the time it's just running past zombies or 'stealth' killing them the same way over and over. So many 'gameplay' segments of finding a ladder and generally just walking from A to B while a character talks. These moments are the worst because now I have to put effort into watching what is essentially just a cutscene. The best part of the game is the character writing and relationships between the characters. But even then, that's not saying much.

In that case Thief is a survival horror too, wow.
