I always conceptually liked city builders and sims but I have not really played many other than like Banished, Rollercoaster Tycoon and Theme Hospital and would love some recommendations for a babby like myself.

>Banished
fun
Try Rise of Industry for a Transport Tycoon type game. Also if you want something similar to Banished then you can try Foundation though currently in early access. Like Banished you don't have to worry about combat.
banished is so overrated
Planetbase is awesome, despite the lack of depth
Dwarf Fortress
Rimworld
Rise to Ruins
Rise of Industry
Dawn of Man
Planetbase
>in development
Nebuchadnezzar
Space Haven
The Universim
Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic
Banished is so comfy
I love banished to death. But once you figure it out and it doesn't take long it becomes so easy its boring.
Anno 1800 is a great city builder
Yeah.
Simcity 4 is a classic. Play vanilla for a while and then start modding it up for optimal enjoyment.
Anno 2205 is one of my favourite city builders but the problem is it's too simplistic for it to really be fun for me. I would highly recommend it for a beginner because it does a lot of really amazing things that I wish other games did, and I wish I could get the enjoyment from it that a beginner would.
Two Point Hospital is great if you liked Theme Hospital.
For theme park games I'd recommend Parcitect and avoid Planet Coaster.
For actual city-building you might like Anno 1800.
How? I've never seen anyone praise it more than it's a good, fun game which it is.
Cause it's incredibly simple and boring

Is it? As far as I was aware, most people thought it was a basic tech demo of sorts with not much to do.
You quoted a post saying he loved it to death but it gets boring after a while, I don't see how that supports your point that it is overrated?
foundation is >early access but it's pretty good if you like something that isn't built on a 90 degree grid. It's more of a medieval cities: skylines more than anything
lurking, i've been playing Banished for the last week, it was fun but it gets boring pretty quickly. Gonna try factorio next
looks interesting. was always more of medieval man myself, and not mechanical one.
Op you might want to try Cliff Empire. It's really cool and futuristic with cool economy mechanic and you can also turn your city into a tower defense level. Really cheap aswell. Kinda weird how little people know about it.
Oxygen Not Included is a base building sim. Pretty deep game
banished was quite good for an indie title
I am a mechanical man.
The Universim is so disappointing
I am a mechanical I am a mechanical I am a mechanical man.
Try Cleopatra or Zeus
anyone tried ostriv? seems a lot like banished
Really recomend this steam curators group that pretty much lists every building and sim game.

we're going to have to build medieval cities, if we want to live in a better world.
Is Anno 1800 that good? Is it worth just getting the standard or is the DLC that good like Civ?
I always wished for a co-op mode in banished, and then I finally tried the Anno series. It's great alone, but sharing a civ is an even better experience to me. Definitely give 1800 a try!
