Just finished Owl and 2mankey

but its arguably the easiest boss in the entire game. by the time you reach her you should be unstoppable

I got stuck on ghost monk for hours but beat this skank on second try.
Just grapple up into the tree when phase 2 starts.

He isn't bad. In fact I like that fight a lot.
First phase is basically the same as the boss you already fought, except if dies quicker. Second can be one shot with a falling deathblow if you get on the branches above her while she's doing the shadow illusions and jump on her real body and you can cheese a lot of the 3rd phase by using firecrackers. There's no cool down on the stun on her, you've got to check it yourself but I think it was like: firecrackers -> 4 or 5 hits and repeat until you run out of spirit emblems. It's best to do that right as the phase starts, because she always starts with the same spinning attack that has a fairly long startup animation, meaning you'll be able to squeeze one or two attacks more in, than you would be if you tried that after that attack
But it's a kino fight in general, great music, love the sound effects of those laughs and screams and all the aesthetics; both of the boss and of the area.

i just want to get to isshin and be done with this

the only time i felt a rush of adrenalin in this game was when i fought the first monkey and his scream perfectly synchronized with the thunder outside my window

This is probably the most exhilarating fight in a game. The parry timing is essential for phase 1 and 2. Also, just spam grapple hook for her second phase spectre attack. 3rd phase is a bit more dodge and hit. The fucking centipede rustles my jimmies each time.

That's literally not how you should be playing. Deflect an attack and counter with a few of your own. You'll be sitting there for hours if you just sit waiting.

good for you, for me it's just straight up a game of standing still and rushing to her when she does the swipe attack jump backwards
the ghost version was fun because it was quick, but three life bars for such a simple fight is a no go

Take a brake if you’re burnt out then, monk is the last real boss before Isshin anyway.

deflecting doesn't matter if you don't deal vitality damage first please read the tips the game provides in the loading screens they have an uncanny ability to correlate to your situation.

bruh you can get to deathblows on the monk at the begining of the fight by just jumping on a tree, the only phase you actually need to fight is the centipede, and you can cheese that with crackers

i read the tips and i want you to go against the monk and stick to his face while deflecting every single attack and then when he does the swipe attack and jumps back chase him and continue deflecting and see how faster that is than mixing up attacks and deflects

This was actually one of the easier bosses. Took me like 4 attempts. Hardest were hirata estate owl and demon of cancer

You can cheese the first 2 phases by jumping from the branch to his head. You can cheese the last phase with firecracker.
