Assassin's Creed

If you had to make someone who was reluctant fall in love with the Assassin's Creed franchise what games would you recommend they play first and in what order?

i would recommend they play none of them because AssCreed fuckin sucks.

user why would you want to do that? Play ezio trilogy and black flag I guess since those are the only good ones.

Because they played dishonored, loved it, and want more stealth games but idk what to recommend

Even though I've played most of the games, I wasn't really a huge AC fan until I played Origins, which I loved. But then I was immediately disappointed by Odyssey.

As far as the trilogy is concerned, I'd say that AC2 (+Brotherhood) is the most enjoyable (and most normie-friendly) game of the bunch. AC1 had the best story of the bunch as well as some fantastic ideas which were executed terribly and AC3 was a bit of a mess from both a story and mechanical standpoint.

Play Assassin's Creed but ignore the collectibles
Play Assassin's Creed II again ignoring the checklists and collectibles.

Stop there.

But you get a really nifty cape if you collect all 100 feathers! don't tell him what it does

Tell them to play the old thief games. There's very little stealth in ass creed.
The only reason I played the games was to wander around historical settings and to push civilians off bridges.

Ac2
Any other answer is a cope. Ac1 comes with revelations on ps3 so if they ever want to go back to that they can.

Just Black Flag because the rest are shit

On another note, I actually enjoyed ac syndicate so fuck the kill connor club

If they were reluctant, the Ezio trilogy. While I genuinely think the first game has some of the best focus on stealth, the coolest cities, and is the darkest in tone it's insanely repetitive and the gameplay is slow and aged like milk.

Dishonoured is nothing like Assassin's Creed, what's your reasoning for even linking the two?
Like the other user said Dishonoured is a love letter to Thief, so play that instead.

Start with the Ezio trilogy
Revelations was kind of boring I never bothered finishing it

>eternally stuck with 99/100 feathers
Fuck you too game.

Odyssey. I'd also tell them to leave it at that.

>Playing AC 1 again
>On my first visit to Jerusalem I decide to get all the health upgrades because I might as well while I'm here
>Second visit for my assassination target
>It's impossible for me to find him because I've already used up all the towers
>Have to restart game

That is a badass cape ngl

AC 1 and Ezio trilogy is good, 4 and rogue are good too. Can't speak for 3 or any of the others cause I haven't played those

>GOAT setting
>one of the most developed characters in vidya
>pic related is such a powerful moment and the music is so iconic that it gets retroactively turned into the series theme
I don't care what anyone says, AC2 was fucking magical.

This. AC2 is the best

I've only played 2 AC games which were 1 and 2 and I only finished 2, so I will recommend that one and only that one. Not any of the other Ezio games, not any of the other games, just AC2.

Black Flag because it's based

The ezio games are very good place to start even though AC 4 black flag is my personal favorite out of them all. Funny if they really like dishonored the most stealth oriented and dishonored like game that assassin's creed has is Unity. Only problem with unity is the rpg mechanic tacked on, microtransaction, and runs like shit on consoles(fine on PC and xbox one X). Definitely the most stealth based game in the entire series and faggots who say the stealth isn't good got filtered by it's difficulty.

Can't disagree with this. AC2 likely was the best.

>you can get that cape in Brohood
>instead of its original effect it does the opposite, which is something a cape in that game already does
What's even the point?

Why? Even Origins is better.

Just play Black Flag

AC1 because its still very uniqur and you can see where some of these popular modern open world game mechanics started from, then AC2 because its a much better and refined version of one, if they hate them both there is no point showing them anything else

AC2 , Ezio saga
AC4 Black Flag
AC Origins

I think these are the games, which for better or for worse embody the best Assassin Creed has to offer.

The games are what they are and with a gameplay that has difficulty evolving, still the architectural study that they done for their settings is something remarkable. The egypt of Origins or the city of Paris are quite impressive.

>one of the most developed characters in vidya
is he? i love ezio but hes nowhere near a arthur morgan

>arthur morgan

A character that has absolutely nothing to do with this comparison. The type of narrative and context are completely different.
