I agree. I also like to believe that Dickson cared for Shulk all the way until he died, but in his own way. He leads Shulk the way to Prison Island, basically tests them if they even have the power to defeat Zanza and in his dying moment he don't want to show Shulk him dying and compliments the boy without him hearing.

Can someone explain to me why Xenoblade Chronicles is so hyped up? Not that I don't believe it, but I played it for a bit years ago and I don't remember it being anything terribly special.

Yeah, it felt pretty shallow that all Mumkhar seemed to be after was the blade. But we don't know if Dunban kept annoying Mumkhar by hanging out with him or vice versa. I'd love a prequel to Xenoblade 1 leading up to the battle at sword valley. The night before the attack could very well be them sitting at a campfire talking about how they ended up where they are now.
