i'm scared shitless from playing this game
hollow brittle teleporting you away
following the orb that was launched at the start into deep space
the fucking water planet
I'm scared shitless from playing this game
I was literally about to make the same thread. This game scares me more than anything I've ever played by far
I have nightmares about giant's deep
this and rain world revitalized my love for games
Is there any game like this? I feel so hollow when I finished it.
Play Subnautica. The fear is called thalassophobia and Subnautica is just a game of nothing but condensed thalassophobia.
But yes the fucking angler fish fucker scare me too.
The water planet is fine as long as you stay over the water. FUCK the core FUCK the black hole and most of all FUCK Dark Brambles
I guess I didn't like being trapped in a cave and drowning in sand
ywn play this for the first time again
Subnautica was pretty tough for me to play but nothing compared to OW. Shit instills a primal fear in me
Rare Outer Wild thread, nice. I really loved the OST, like the one when you explore the ancient city
>Dark Brambles
Fuck that place, I don't think that there is a more depressing place that the alien mass graves
>not relishing an adventure into the unknown
You're a big gay, OP
Falling into the eye made me nope the fuck away from my screen.
I'd probably start hyperventilating every other minute and shit my pants if you could play it with VR.
>2d
uuuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh STOP shilling reddit indie shit
I think people should use exhilarating more.
That’s definitely how I felt about this game.
So many crazy stupid things you can do that make you clinch your asshole shut and little memorable details
Landing on the sun station
Landing on the attlerock after being shot from a geyser
Slingshotting around the brittle hollow black hole with only O2, trying to hit the surface
Slingshotting around planets after not decelerating enough
Coasting by anglerfish at high speed and almost grazing them
The first time a tornado on giants deep hits you
Exploring the coral forest for the first time
Exploring the interloper
Lining up all of the OWV signals
Quantum teleportation
There’s just so many memorable moments in this game, it’s honesty the most memorable one I’ve played in years
but its not 2d?
>Exploring the interloper
those poor mother fuckers
No user please i havent gotten to these parts yet. I did try landing on the sun station but im not skilled enough yet
Ive played subnautica first and i agree its the same genre although subnautica is more crafting oriented (and less polished)
Ending was complete shit, but it wasn't enough to ruin the ride along the way.
Neat little walking sim. More of them should try to be like that.
Just go immediately to the planet and there is no way you would drown in it
I don't get the bits about Interloper
When I played it would hit the sun and time would run out in 5 minutes and I wasn't sure if it was a bug or feature after finding out why everything ends
How did that thing kill all the goats?
This game was both wondrous and terrifying at the same time. Fuck the black hole, though. What was exciting and scary at first just became annoying after multiple runs.
If I remember right, the interloper was filled with ghostmatter and offgassed it across the star system when it started to melt at its periapsis. I played the game a while ago, so I'm a bit fuzzy on the details but yeah the comet killed em.
Yeah I know about ghostmatter but don't understand why did everyone died so suddenly and yet interloper still exists
Since the interloper would have entered the systems gravity at a high speed, the ghost matter it would have off gassed as the ice melted would have moved incredibly quickly, sending a wave of death across the system before anyone had time to react. The interloper itself is largely made of ice, and ultimately would melt away on its current orbit (it may have been a good deal larger at the time of the nomai). The nomai were as good as dead as soon as the interloper entered the system.
I just found the game not fun to play. It felt like it was made in the Gamebryo engine with how your character moved around. I can't get into games where the actual gameplay part is not engaging.
It got close enough to the sun the partially melt, and degrade the shell that was containing all of the ghost matter. The logs are a little vague, and you have to infer some details.
They state that the core was an intact shell, but the thing you find looks like a spaghetti explosion
>try to land on the sun station after i first see it
>spend an actual hour just falling into the sun
>look up if it's even possible and spoil how to actually get there for myself
I don't know what I was expecting.
>not fun to play
moving around is extremely fun and rewarding once you get the hang of it
Interloper's previous orbits brought it close enough to the sun to melt a bit and release ghost matter into the atmosphere, but not close enough to destroy it. It appears intact when you get to it because the eccentricity of it's orbit allowed it to refreeze.
Nah, it's max comfy.
Sometime when the loop comes to an end I just get out of the ship and float in space waiting for the supernova to engulf me.
Thanks
Dark bramble is fucking terrifying on an existential level if you think about how it spreads.
IIRC it was highly pressurized and exploded outwards when it's shell broke as it got closer to the sun.
Given that it's essentially radiation, everything was physical left intact but everything alive in the solar system just fell over dead pretty much instantly.
The player characters species only still exists because their ancestors lived under water, and ghost matter is somewhat nullified by water given that the interloper is made of ice.
You think that's scary?
Try Space Engine and realize who utterly fucking meaningless you are and how much of the universe you will never ever get to experience.
It may be scary but it's also beautiful, so if anyone reading this post wants to play the game...Do it.
To add to this, ghost matter does evaporate over time, thus there being habitable environments by the time the hearthians evolved enough to leave the water.
