You don't hate gyro aiming do you Zig Forums? It's a great compromise between accuracy of KBM and the comfort of a controller.
You don't hate gyro aiming do you Zig Forums...
I like gyro aim. No has screeched about it being bad.
Good gyro aiming
>3D Zeldas
>Splatoon
Bad gyro aiming
>Star Fox Zero
>Skyward Sword
Worked well in OoT3D. Didn't play MM3D but i assume it's the same.
Nerrel is alright, but his TLJ video was pants-on-head retarded.
How can a person with such shit taste in videogames make so informative and interesting videos?
>>Skyward Sword
Doesn't Skyward Sword use the sensor bar for aiming?
I hate it. Maybe if I wasn't 39 but I'm just too fucking old to learn new control schemes at this point, I am not bothering to fight over 20 years worth of muscle memory with aiming in 3D games on both mouse and controller.
I second this, but replace TLJ with the Hollow Knight section of his Metroidvania video.
Note I haven't watched his TLJ video, or TLJ it self, so I can't comment on it.
No, Twilight Princess did which is why Twilight Princess's aiming works beautifully like a fucking charm.
Skyward Sword uses the gyroscope and is only barely something I could call functional. If even that.
I'm pretty sure SS uses both gyro and sensor bar?
Not for aiming. All gyro which is why the controls are sluggish and there's a dedicated recalibrate button.
It's weird how aiming in SS is such a noticeable step down from TP. Then again since then they've pretty much nailed motion assist for every Zelda since.
Wii sensor bar aiming was better, but gyro aiming is based nonetheless. Really hate when shooters on console don't include it
Gyro overreliance absolutely killed SS for me. The Wii's IR camera felt great, playing Twilight Princess and Metroid Prime 3 was a dream. Ditching it for the Wii Motion Plus gimmick was a mistake.
>Be Sony
>Package gyro in your controllers for 2 generations straight
>Literally never use it outside of gimmick shit
What's the point?
It is really noticeable how awful it is when you do the mission with the pumpikin shooting.
There's no control scheme to "learn", you just rotate.
In Splatoon, you still use the sticks for complementary horizontal wide movement. You're probably already moving your controller IRL instinctively when aiming up or down in tense situations.
What? Mouse and keyboard are perfectly comfortable. I like motion control aim but "the comfort of a controller" has nothing to do with it.
I don't hate it but it's not accurate enough to be comfortable.
>watch video recently
>guys, you're watching movies wrong; give IX a chance!
>look at comments
>n-nevermind guys, IX was actually bad sorry
Still makes me laugh how literally no one was satisfied once those movies were over.
I have seen this putric puckered anus face so many god damn times now and I have no idea where it's from; all I know is that every time I see it, it fills me with a mix of disgust and anger.
This isn’t true. Skyward Sword uses a mix of the sensor bar & gyro. Recentering also takes a second and you should already know where you want to aim before you press B. Skyward Sword’s motion controls are incredibly easy to use if you have a brain.
>Youtube essay man makes a video
>dumbass commenters disagree with it
>he makes several more videos responding to the 1% of his viewers that disagreed with him
This guy isn't particularly guilty, why are they like this?
TLJ is the best of the new trilogy solely because it didn't suck the dick of consoomers.
Has it gotten better since the 3DS Gyro shit? Because that just made me want to kill myself. Wiggling my arms around like I'm trying to pin the tail on the donkey isn't exactly what I would call a comfortable experience.
Please speak as if you know this is a board discussing video games and not ecelebs.
No.
I think the Switch is fine even in movement heavy games like TWEWY Final Remix. Just add a dedicated recalibration button.
>don't talk about ecelebs in an eceleb thread
Sorry user, I hope you can forgive me
They're fine. Even TROS was fun, just not a satisfying conclusion (felt similar to The Dark Knight Rises). Weirdly enough TFA comes out the weakest since it's just a hollow remake, TROS had some incredibly low lows, but the highs were just as high, I can't say the same for TFA, which was pretty much 'ok' throughout.
Sucks how hard they got politicized, people can't seem to just have fun with a movie anymore.
TLJ is the best film in the franchise, with SW and Empire close behind, only seething fanboys who have shit taste in film disagree.[/spoilers]
ok
IR Pointer aiming is actually the best aiming ever created for consoles..
Gyro aiming isn't good for people who fidget or who can't hold a controller straight. The way it's used in most new games is as a complement to conventional aiming, and I don't want my aim to waver while I'm aiming with analog. I also really don't want to drop years of muscle memory just to wave a brick around because it's somehow "faster" than what I'm used to.
