Character has 25 bullets in a clip

>character has 25 bullets in a clip
>character has 100 reserve ammo
>character shoots 10 bullets
>reloads
>character's clip once again has 25 bullets
>character has 90 reserve ammo

It's 2020 and even "realistic" games are still doing this.

Ghost Recon didn't do this iirc
What are some others besides that?

>dude let me just throw away 15 perfectly good bullets for no reason

would gameplay be improved if the player had to select a mag from their inventory
should these mags have their remaining rounds displayed
if not, should the player have to inspect the mags to see quantity of remaining rounds
maybe when we get 64 core cpus and 64GB ram standard, we'll have enough hardware to model this stuff.

Insurgency, Squad, Arma, older Tom Clancy games, EYE, probably some STALKER autism mods, Receiver, Battlefield 1942, 2 and Vietnam.

Cringe mate

>character gets shot
>character crouches down behind a crate or hide behind a corner
>7 seconds later they're completely fine

I actually wish more games would feature losing ammo on ejecting a magazine with bullets left in it because it would make reloading a more interesting mechanic than "vulnerable pause every x bullets"

Red Orchestra 2
>no ammo count hud
>"New magazine is heavy
>adjustable gunsight range
>can use iron sights under sniper scope

>cries about realism
>"""CLIP"""

I'd love to see a clip that has 25 rounds.

Basically any VR exclusive game with guns.

These games are characterized by everyone having fully automatic weapons and players reload after every single firefight. It's not about realism, it's about gameplay. A realistic magazine system wouldn't be fun in a game like CoD or Battlefield where most players run around with assault rifles with a 30-round capacity and expend 5-15 rounds killing each enemy.
Most older Tom Clancy games before they all became science fiction, most of the "realistic" shooters out right now: Rising Storm, Red Orchestra, Insurgency, Squad, Arma, etc. Titanfall 1 had this feature but removed it in 2

>still
Thats a modern "design" desition you fucking newfag

>Nuclear Dawn
I am still disappointed

Jagged alliance 2

If a game ever did this its rating could only ever start at 8/10 and go down from there. What a stupid idea. Have your character have to pee every once in a while why don't you

>clip
clip your dick off, tranny

if game has "reserve ammo" instead of magazines, the fuck did you expect?

>heavily trained super soldier
>doesn't multitask by quickly refilling the magazine while reloading
Wouldn't want to have you defending my country

I remember laughing at The Getaway for doing this and then 10 years later it was in every single fucking game

caring about the terminology of clips vs mags when clips are obsolete and used by no one other than boomers or canadians just to show off your epic /k/ knowledge is pure cringe. same for saying "ummmm excuse me sweaty wheres your trigger discipline" when someone doesnt have their finger in the absolute picture perfect position

Escape from Tarkov does it the right way.

Everybody knows soldiers have magical bullet reallocating pockets for maximum bullet efficiency.

its not about bullets. IRL you are not supposed to throw away mag after you reload but in games you reload keep your bullets and clearly discard a mag which makes no sense whatsoever

>magazine
It's a clip you retard

i'm sorry but call of duty and battlefield don't fall under the 'realism' category user.

Pretend like they're administering first aid and resting

nice cope faggot

try to be correct when bitching and you might be able to prove a point

Could be fun if there was a mechanic to refill magazines and a short animation played after a button press. But that would be little more than a doubling of reloading as a mechanic.
