I just started this. What should I expect
To only encounter around 30 different enemies in the whole game, bosses aside. The fact that there's no enemy variety because they just level-scale with you doesn't get mentioned nearly enough.
A philosophical journey through the soul, time and all reality woven into a complex plot that only the very top 1% of humanity will ever truly understand.
Wtf is this school shit this is pretty gay ngl
this, a lot of the plot is hinted to but not really explained until the last quarter of the game
Ignoring bosses there are over 75 unique enemies.
Expect heterosexual poetic shit and stuff from MGS 1 but less good
Also expect a combat system that can literally make you overpowerfully broken
>philosophical
LMAO bullshit!
pretty boring start but it gets really good toward the end of disc 1. i say it's worth playing but 7,4,9 and 10 are better imo.
To spend most of the game just playing Triple Triad and having it ruin the experience for you because the rules become cancerous as fuck and involve insane backtracking to rectify. I kind of miss when video games used to have minigames in them that could have as much replay value if not more than the game itself. Xenosaga also did similar.
Force Your Way fuckin slaps
One of the worst videogame romances around
Grinding for cards. I tried playing after getting nostalgia, got an emulator and a walkthrough. Holy shit I spent probably 20 hours just grinding for cards in the very first city. I got bored eventually and yeah, haven't touched it since.
On a side note, fuck walkthroughs... they're handy to 100%. But I always feel like I NEED to follow a walkthrough or I'm just wasting my time. It sucks :( I miss exploring the games myself and learning about it as I play thru. The curse of rpg's lol.
"up for a round of Gwent?"
>y 20 hours just grinding for cards in the very first city
why
item refine also exists
Great music, terrible plot, and Squall is one of the best FF protagonists
>the rules become cancerous as fuck and involve insane backtracking to rectify
Most people don't actually figure this out on their own because the method is retarded but it's possible to stop regional rules from mixing with 100% consistency.
You have to continuously challenge and cancel the challenge until they stop mentioning the rules
>challenge
>Ah, you know rules unfamiliar with this region
>cancel
>challenge
>Let's play cards
>accept
The second of these two prevents rules from spreading and you literally have to challenge and cancel anywhere from 2-5 times before it shows up.
>level-scale
I wonder what you think you know about just what it means that an enemy "level-scales" with you.
Is that if your stats go up by 200 points...does that same enemy's stats "scale" with you at a rate of 1:1, and they ALSO get points???
Whatever difficulty they were when you were level 5...are they "scaled" so that they're stats make them JUST AS DIFFICULT when you re-visit and fight them at level 50?
Does "level-scaling" regard their given EXP points, too?
>Also expect a combat system that can literally make you overpowerfully broken
>I always feel like I NEED to follow a walkthrough or I'm just wasting my time.
Never takes long for this to appear
A stupid non-sensical plot (as most ff) with an unpolished, unbalanced and confusing yet extremely engaging gameplay. It takes the classic jrpg formula and ads a few gimmicks.
I wish they would've re balanced everything in the remaster
Oh, and try to avoid levelling up as much as possible, it's pointless
>they improve at a higher rate than you, so while a level 5 character can take on a level 5 enemy rather easily, a level 30 character will have a lot of trouble defeating a level 30 enemy.
Slaps what zoomer?
adolescent drama
pretty standard stuff
grinding cards and not actually playing the game.
this post reeks of newfaggotry
The gameplay shouldn't work but it does
Disk 1 is pure compressed high octane kino. Rest is kind of strange but entertaining. You will be fine. It's a game only few can really feel. It is cringe kino done right. Same with FF9, wich is a nice little stage play. Don't listen to the plebs

>tfw no Selphie gf
I'm not certain why you used a green font; whether to indicate your own personal thoughts or are attempting to mis-quote me.
In either case, your post is incorrect: enemies DO NOT scale at a 1:1 rate OR FASTER than your own stats and many bosses are indeed LOCKED and CANNOT SCALE at all. They higher your level, the easier your enemies become. Even when they gain access to a higher level magic.
This does not even include the inherent use of Junctioned Guardian Forces you have acquired.
You could be with her forever, you know...
Junction 100 death, 100 sleep, 100 ultima, and become a team of walking gods
I still can be by dying of natural causes though.
Squall: a self-insert character for teenagers who really just want to be normies and fit into society.
(he succeeds)
Rinoa: annoying bland waifu that is only there to make squall's character arc function as intended
Zell: I WANT HOT DOGS
Laguna: at least this guy is somewhat funny
Everyone else: non-characters, non-written, plot devices, 2D background elements for the glorious Squall Character Arc about becoming a normie that fits in society
It's shit.
It has been done before, and better too.
You will either waist your time drawing or you will play cards, a lot, you will play cards more than anything else, in fact consider this a card game
the card game is the best part.
