What the fuck

Yes.

I fought really hard for this game day.
Message boards hated it. My friends hated it. Even my dad was seething I spent $50 on a game where you cant move around with shitty PSX graphics.

I'm glad it turned out to be a cult classic.

fucking amazing game

Tempted to pick it up on sale.

Think we'll ever get the "complete" version?

I'm curious, what was the general attitude towards this game when it first came out? Did people even know about Suda back then? I'm guessing probably not since this was his first big game localized to the west.

Goddamn, every time I replay this game, I still can't believe how fucking STYLISH and AESTHETIC it is.

Are you awake from your dream?

Just started this and read through all the info in Harman's Room. It makes it seem like there's a ton of mechanics.

When I beat the game I was so flummoxed on what I witnessed I had an out loud conversation with myself because no one was home.

I remember Nintendo Power hyping it up as the first shot at a game being art. And as much as I hate to agree, I’d say killer7 is the closest thing to art games have gotten

I learned about this game from CHEAT! and X-Play on G4TV no other game looked or sounded like it at the time and it hooked me. To me, attention wasn't really on Suda until No More Heroes because it was "That M rated game on the Wii." Madworld was the other one.

You did good son

FOUR

TIMES

It's really a simple TPS. Thin blood heals and powers special attacks, thick blood is money and XP. Some puzzles require a specific character. Aim for the weak points.

Pretty good, isn't?

FUCK YOU

With all of this talk about games becoming more cinematic, this is one of the only "cinematic" games I'd actually watch if they were a movie or a television series.

Don't worry about it too much. It's a pretty easy and very forgiving game. It's more story driven than gameplay driven.

Master! We are in a tight spot!
A really tight spot!
Nazis are posting on our board!
Maybe we should punch them in the throat!
In the name of Harman.

I had a Nintendo magazine that did nothing but talk about how messed up it was, but I didn't have Gamecube. As soon as I found a ps2 version in GameStop I snapped it up. It's a great game, but the puzzles wore me out.

When I first played this I had no concept of why the dialogue was so strange, especially the way the ghosts talked. My lack of context in relation to bad Japanese translations added to the atmosphere so much.

>ps2 version
oof. Glad you enjoyed it though.

So what's Zig Forums's opinions on this?

Felt like the story was convoluted for convoluted sake. Gameplay was all right. My Suda tier list goes as such:
Killer 7>No More Heroes>No More Heroes 2>>>powergap>>>Shadows of the Damned>Killer is Dead>Lollipop Chainsaw

Still need to play Travis Strikes Again.

cool visuals, a lot of varied setpieces and some refined gameplay coming from no more heroes. That said it ends up being far less satisfying, engaging or memorable than the games that came before it.
Absolutely worth a play but you can't go into it expecting it to occupy a niche between killer7 and NMH.

How the fuck did this game never get a Wii port? It's a perfect fit.

does it perform better on ps2 or gamecube answer honestly.
PC is not a response.

gamecube

Thank you user.

If I recall I think ign gave it a relatively positive score, surprisingly

>Felt like the story was convoluted for convoluted sake
(And That's a Good Thing)

PC.
>PC is not a response.
Yes it is dipshit.

Just bought this on the summer sale. This better be good when I finally play it 5 years from now.

>Of these two options which is superior?
Wrong. Third option.
Neck yourself already no one likes you.

It's funny how Suda's name is attached to every game from grasshopper when the only games that suda can call his own are Killer 7, NMH1, and the Silver Case games
