Do you even play video games? This statement is so idiotic.
Witcher 3 sold like 40 million copies and everyone loves it. I don't like it I think the writing is weak. But everyone praises the Blood Baron and the quest with the viper school witcher, or the quest on Skelige with the human sacrifice.
Even better example in Witcher 2, that game pulls almost no punches when it comes to moral ambiguity and it's still praised.

This shit doesn't surprise me to be honest. Most companies nowadays aim for the most generic wider-reaching bland experience possible, it's no surprise people don't even acknowledge niche gaming exists at this point

You really aren't owed someone to just spend hours typing the flaws of the game to what is likely just some fanboy arguing in bad faith. A lot of reviews/youtube have laid out issues with the game and there are a lot of issues from a lot of perspectives because it's a 25 hour long game.

I'm only gonna talk about 1 issue for me ,a big thing for me was it's pacing. They did the Seattle part catastrophically. Ellie days feel gruelingly slow where not much happens and there's a lot of repetition. Finally it picks up only for the game to say, we are pausing the story for a 10 hour unrelated sidequest with the other character, and we're just gonna make it feel really cheap and blatant by have her save zebras, pet puppies or save the children. And Abby parts are actually more action filled but it still feels slow, because it's only 5% connected to the other story. And you go trough this slog again just to arrive in Seattle and there's no big payoff. They don't talk, they don't share perspectives nothing amazing really happens. It's over in 5 minutes. This was the big finale everything was leading up to? It's extremely weak. And when the entire shit is over no one learned anything. Ellie wants to go on revenge again, Tommy wants to go on revenge again

It is filled with cheap shocker factors along the lines off: oh no you killed a prego or doggo do you feel bad already.
It had dubious character motivations that just make very little sense, the same goes for some of its plot turns.
The whole abby arc is filled with bad character development about characters you don't give a single fuck about, they keep try to forcefully make them likeable, but their writers are incapable of actually doing that.

And literature professor would give that story a failing grade.

I honestly can't relate to anger/revenge stories at all, they always feel dumb/childish to me. It just seems to bland to define someone entirely on "hurr kill!".
