Did Bloodborne singlehandedly BTFO the "horror" genre? Upper Cathedral Ward and winter lanterns are scarier than all resident evil and silent hill combined.

Game isn't "scary" at all. Relies on the 2007 eldritch horror meme Lovecraft shit when the internet rediscovered him, and by 2015 it was played out in every other game and media if you were in the loop. If not you probably thought Bloodborne was unique or interesting.
The rollspank (emphasis on the "roll" for BB and DS3 with the infinite stamina) was at its peak of popularity and was an iterative approach to the system, so I can give it some credit there.
Never really found it scary the winter lanterns and insight brainsuckers are just annoying
It's more weird fiction than cosmic horror.
the only thing scary about this game is when you hear the crowdog things bark for the first time
imagine being scared of things
did people actually get scared by this game? holy fucking shit, you guys are massive pussies if that's the case.
it's a good game but the "Horror" in it isn't genuinely scary in any way, the few jumpscares aren't even very good either.
Literally the only disturbing thing about Bloodborne was approaching the Brain of Mensis. I still remember it being super unsettling.
Do you understand what the word "tank controls" means?
Because it's evident you don't
>noooo you can use an established monster type
Why aren't you complaining that it also relies on the werewolf meme and the vampire meme? Stop treating Lovecraftian monsters any different, it's in the public conscience now, just like vampires. Not even a reference to anything
