Will they ever make a Dragon's Dogma 2, or was Online really it? I didn't even hear of Online's existence until they shut her down

Nobody knows
The popular theory is Dragon's Dogma 2 is Itsuno's current or next project if he isn't doing anything right now.
en.wikipedia.org
There is one problem, the battle system director for the first game actually left capcom and went to work for another company. But maybe he was able to give enough input before he left. Itsuno was highly influential for the company, they almost lost him too years ago before they pretty much told him:
'Wait don't leave, what do you want to work on if it will mean you stay'
And he told them 2 things, Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon's Dogma 2. Dmc 5 came out roughly a year ago so he must be working on DD2, although he did show interest in a new Rival Schools game, all we can do is wait.
As for Online for some reason it was Japan only, I don't think Itsuno was even involved with it. Had some interesting story expansions though.
everyone keeps talking about dragons dogma 2 but i wouldnt mind itsuno just remaking dragons dogma 1 in the vision he wanted all along and move on to 2 after dmc6
That would be a nice alternative, especially after those infamous conference pictures showing all the stuff they cut, saying: 'At this point the game was twice as large as the final project'
Imagine
Never. Ever.
>There is one problem, the battle system director for the first game actually left capcom and went to work for another company
As well he should, Capcom is not using his skills.
Is there any other game that will fill the dragons dogma shaped hole in my heart?
This game doesn't deserve to be so fucking good.
Try monster hunter.
No, there's a reason we pine after it still
I've been going back and forth getting MHW, is it worth getting at this point and will it fill that western style ARPG craving?
So if the next DD decides to keep rolling with the classic fantasy would you want to see a fourth color added to jobs or just changes to the standard 3?
>Musical weapon added to Yellow and Blue for a bard job
>Red gets a proper punching job
I'd rather them just flesh out the existing colors, warrior needs more than 3 moves and no block, ect
No, user. You're going to be left searching for that white whale the rest of your life, and sailing on, and on, and on.
No, stop asking
Monhun is honestly a waste of time and the fights are overrated
It's almost as exploitative as gacha but in its own twisted way that predates gacha
>gacha
Is this the weeb version of a skinners box? But yeah, I get what you mean, damn that's a shame. I guess there's hoping for a Shadows of the Colossus remake
Online made sense since its looks and plays (party system) like an online game in single player. Also it would have given them the important subs profit.
With this franchise capcom is fucked, to build a next gen one will cost too much and will need a few million in sales to be profitable. Now to take the next gen (if it exists) monster hunter engine/textures and retool into dragons dogma 2 with an actually good story (no anime cliches) also lore based to keep costs down, while using a b team/foreign labor then it can be done and sold to a core market while making a profit. It should be released in between 2 monster hunter games Also include some feature to get the monster hunter gamers to buy it.
My only wish for DD2 is for stat ups to not be tied to class so we don't have to go full autism to get an optimized character. Let me assign the points myself.
Just imagine the one thing that can complete your armor set so you get that skill bonus is this thing that has a .5% drop from the most obnoxious boss you've ever fought and that's only if you cut off the tail and break the head and if you fuck up too much it's a good half hour down the toilet
You have to have an inhuman tolerance for bullshit to hang with Monhun and even then you'll probably reach your breaking point eventually and then realize you haven't been having fun for a very long time and all you've been playing is a glorified palette swap boss rush with criminally poor droprates
>As for Online for some reason it was Japan only
it was given to the capcom online division which went belly up because they screwed up
He didn't leave Capcom he was contracted by Squenix to help on there new project he still technically employed by there.
oof damn, and i thought farming shit in souls games was annoying. i literally just want an open world arpgs at this point so it sucks theyre the hardest to make
I could never get into it, I hate the controls. Plus grinding for items is not my style. I will probably cheat if I ever play World.
Farming shit in Souls game is like the most relaxing thing in the world, coming up with efficient farming patterns and suicide loops is great. MonHun is torture and busywork and fickle monster behavior on every level.
>open world arpgs
A cursed genre. It's why things like Skyrim keep selling despite being sloppy messes with persistent bugs that are almost a decade old now.
>Dogma was unfinished because Itsuno had to help with Donte's game
>Dogma 2 will be unfinished because battle guy was helping Squenix.
aaaaaAAAAAAAAA
online sucks ass tho
enemies are complete damage sponges EARLY
I should note tho: online sucks ass compared to DD and DA
it's a fantastic game regardless of the comparison with normal DD
cursed genre it is, but i cant help that its the most pleasing to my smooth brain, i just finally gave dragons dogma a chance after burning through Two Worlds 2 (awful) and Amalaur (meh) and it's one of the best games I've ever played hands down.Gotta have more of that dopamine.
What's your favorite class to play as?
How long am I supposed to be weak in this game? Can I farm enemies?
Oh Taro san, marry me.
assasin
I felt weak until I got to Gran soren and bought a new weapon/armor
How many chapters is my file, user?
Red pill me on this game. I’ve always wanted to play it but am on the fence. My favorite games are BB and DS3, and I also really enjoy RPG’s in general, especially ARPG’s.
Warrior because I hate myself
We're all in the same boat and yeah, I'm constantly teetering on the verge of trying some of those shitty games because I'm so starved for some open world action RPG goodness and I've already bought DD three times and played it to fucking death.
Souls and Soulslikes are the only games in this vein that give enough of a shit about tight combat and character building to be satisfying though
It's a huge pleb filter but its in my top 10 easily. If you can put up with Souls autism and like ARPGs its a no brainer. Just don't get autistic about minmaxing or getting 100% completion on your first playthrough. Maybe ask for some spoiler-free tips about missables if you really must.
Strider for the max chuuni factor and generally being good at everything. Also non-GC magic knight because sword and board in DD is fun and its got some nice flashy skills over Fighter.
they definitely need to add in the mmo classes. Some of them were fun as hell
I like SMT with the press turn system. It's kinda brutal.
the only thing in common is that both have weapons and monster, as all fantasy games have
also
>recommending mainstream games
Assassin but with a shield and 1h sword because i hate the way the bow looks
