Any oldfags, neets or otaku want to talk about video games?
What game had the best community surrounding it, past or present?

Speaking of game communities, I realised that's what I've been looking for in my games, but the ones I'm interested in are awful.
The shmup community is literally insane and the fighting game community, well the less said the better. I was into SC2 for a bit but the community there is pretty serious, and Armored Core online has people way way ahead of me to even try catching up
>I realised that's what I've been looking for in my games, but the ones I'm interested in are awful.
I know that feel user, well said. I generally like the communities surrounding single player games. I had found memories of the mass effect generals before /vg/ and now it's all sfm porn posting.
The Persona 4 community has been amazing. I thought for sure PC people would ruin it, but if anything they've embraced it.
>community
That's retarded unitedstatian faggotry.
Quake 3 had people that respected you if you were skilled and if you were working hard to improve.
From the best to the worst players, its theat type of game.
youtube.com
Pay attention to the amount of respect that Rapha shows to cooler.
"A game like this wouldn't be as good as it was if it wasn't for the opponent that was across from me. So, these games doesn't mean anything unless the other opponent is as good as you or better."
are vibing naoto posters all schizos or?
Has vibin naoto really gotten to Zig Forums? I thought it was still a dumb facebook group that i love
>facebook
you should see the amount of autist schizos larping at persona characters on Instagram I love it too
>That's retarded unitedstatian faggotry.
what?
how do I summon the schizos for free bumps
Make a Yakuza thread, guaranteed about 8 schizos
Really? Are they Majima posters?
No, they just have prepared lines about the series and replies, not to mention stale pasta
Come to think of it I've never been into a Yakuza thread before.
>not to mention stale pasta
example?
27 here, looking forward to Ghost of Tsushima on Friday
Recently discovered T-16/PCE, played some Bomberman, fun as hell
Also been re-reading JJBA, on part 2 atm.
I have a very specific fetish of girls fuxking me with a pouty or angry look on their face and theres hardly anything out there.
Its all ahegos or smugness. Anyone else know my pain??
Runescape just before the introduction of the grand exchange. Perfect community and it taught me how to type quickly trying to buy and sell items in world 2 falador.
>looking forward to Ghost of Tsushima on Friday
Waiting for reviews, hope it's decent but I'll be too busy playing Gaylo 3 on pc.
>That pic
thanks for the new wallpaper fellow mech bro
>Any oldfags, neets or otaku want to talk about video games?
Any espers, aliens, or time travelers want to talk about video games?
That's what Haruhi is great for, she gives that pouty look a ton.
>Runescape
I couldn't get into this game because too many people in my middleschool were playing it at the time and I thought I'd run into someone for some reason.
the PoE community for all its elitism has its good parts. A grass-roots competitive scene, ample content creators so one is surely to fit your taste, a game that isn't going to die for the foreseeable future due to its regular content updates.
>Any espers, aliens, or time travelers want to talk about video games?
Nice. I was wondering when someone was going to pick up on that.
was about to say, runescape before the GE and jagex fucking with the wildy was magical. i made so many friends both in-game and on forums (shout out to any former sal's users from the invisionfree days)
Oldfags, neets, and otaku are about as rare as espers, aliens, and time travelers on 2020 Zig Forums.
>You will inevitably start to feel bored. You will walk from pointless conversation to pointless conversation. You will read and read and read while character models stare at each other lifelessly. You will do the same unchallenging fights hundreds of times over where enemies pose no threat. You will stare at cutscenes that play out in the slowest way possible. You'll tell yourself the story has gripped you while trying to ignore how badly written it is.
You will wonder why Zig Forums and various ecelebs hyped up this series, and begin telling yourself that YOU must be wrong, not them. You'll tell yourself it's good just to feel a part of something. That's what you're in for.

>The bomb being a fake in 2 sums up perfectly why the writing in these games is terrible. Nothing ever actually matters or has consequence. Things happen just to have a melodramatic scene which ten minutes later doesn't even matter anymore. Kaz can be stabbed and left to die and then be back on his feet and fine 2 minutes later. These games are full of this shit. It's not even "twists" because that would mean things would have to be foreshadowed or at least still have consequence. But literally everything that you think is happening can be undone at any moment. RUBBER BULLETS is the most extreme example but the games are full of this garbage. It only annoys me because when people point out how shit the gameplay is they defend the games by saying "you idiot, you play for the story" but that makes no sense when they're written so badly.

Not to mention the new "shit sux" guy and this really new wave of faggots who think no one should play games
Haruhi can will them back into existence!
>i made so many friends both in-game and on forums
This but with Warhawk.
god, i wish i was her
been here since 2006 on and off. I particularly love friday night and saturday night threads.
Always glad to spread the glory that is robot to my fellow /m/an
30yo boomer here. It's pretty hard to come to Zig Forums and engage in any form of video game discussion when the only thing I see on any video game social media platform are:
Gays
LBGT
TranRights
SJW
Politics
Sex Scandals
Censorship of anything niche communities like (like anime boobs)
Sexual Harrassment
Cancel Culture
I always feel like I clicked on a TMZ article no matter where I am. I simply cannot cope. For years I ask, "why in the fuck are these people using video games as a platform to promote all this bullshit that has nothing to do with videogames?" and people ignore me and this issue all the time.
First I had to deal with normies playing video games. Then them invading my niche shit and forcing the developer to "cater to the casual audience" as well as forcing the developers to shit on their own IPs for an entire generation (see Capcom), but at least.... this shit has to do with video games. Now it's all about the fucking politics man.
>2006
same, as are most in these threads I've realized.
>I particularly love friday night and saturday night threads.
tehy're one of the best parts of my week sad that the saturday night threads are dying though.
dont we all
based. Whats your favorite mecha game while I've got your attention. Should I try Daemon X Machina?
>30 years old
>uses the term SJW
Sure
Dark souls 1 pvp had the best community.
/dsg/ would hold fight club tournaments.
>It's pretty hard to come to Zig Forums and engage in any form of video game discussion
I wish this site fought harder to prevent being colonized but all these politically charged zoomers. I wish mods deleted those threads instead of these ones.
>I always feel like I clicked on a TMZ article no matter where I am
the moment I see a basedjak I close the thread.
DXM is garbage, play AC
>spoiler
Disgaea
>/dsg/ would hold fight club tournaments.
thats fucking awesome
>AC
gonna emulate them next once I clear some stuff off my backlog
why?
lmfao holy shit
Also gonna say Runescape. I thought the community was still solid up until EoC split the community in half.
Also the Mario Kart 8 general on /vg/ was pretty fucking solid, I met a nice group of people there, some of which I still talk to everyday and have met up with multiple times.
