Just make budget titles similar in style to Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night. Do one of them sometimes and do the other another time. Once they get the engine made they can be cranked out pretty easy for low cost and thus high profit. The Etrian Odyssey Approach if you will. Just no Souls please.

Give it longer levels, short but great cutscenes, the ability to upgrade your whip multiple times instead of just the chain whip, better bosses, increase the pacing of the game to make it fast and loose on the combat and the platforming, give it multiple routes that give you different endings, I could go on and on.

I'd love it to have something like a refined version of the Resident Evil 6 combat system. Tone wise, I'd like it to avoid Soulslike in favor of something more like the Arkham games. YOU are the real monster. Everything in the castle might normally be the baddest thing around, but not when a Belmont comes calling. DOOM but with a whip instead of a gun.
