i really don't think i need much else of a reason to want to play as him in anything, let alone smash- although smash also brings back more of SMRPG's music so theres an added bonus

Not necessarily a fan of him, but a fan of the game he represents. Although I wouldn't put it up with Chrono trigger or anything, but I feel like outside it's cult level fanbase, smrpg is underrated. If it were possible, I'd love to see more references from that game rolled into modern Mario games, if not a direct sequel/ remake (PM/ M&L doesn't count in this instance). I've come to find that in this timeline shit just doesn't work out in certain ways, so I find Geno's inclusion in smash, for example, to be rather unlikely, outside of the Mii costume.

I don't post in these roster threads typically but Geno was my favorite video game character for a really long time as a kid and I'm still a fan of him to this day despite all these shit threads. I had a really small TV when I played smrpg on SNES growing up so it was hard to see the character well. I thought for most of my life his hair curl thing was actually a big ass nose and his bow were the eyes. I didn't realize he had a big curl until these threads started and people started posting fanart of him.

People only like Geno because his introduction in the game was the forest fucking maze which became a meme. And also geno whirl but who cares about that when you can get bowser with a weapon that turns his attack animations into throwing mario at the enemies.

He's still a fairly unique (and surprisingly fitting) design within the greater Mario universe even after decades of additional development of the style. He'd represent an older Nintendo RPG and an older Square RPG.
